'Staff were super helpful and even up'

'I've been coming to this hotel since I was a child, (30 odd years ago), so I have fond memories of family holidays here and other than a brief pause over COVID, I've come at least once a year with my young family. This time felt a bit different though. While they do a great job of maintaining the massive building and surrounds, this grand old lady is showing her age. Rooms have always been dependent on the owners investment and while my (connecting) room wasn't in bad shape, it is my experience...

'Old and very tired, in need of refurbishment. Three main things define a quality room - Plumbing, Pillows and Aircon, FAIL on all 3. You can hear other people's plumbing running. The pillows are thin cheap ones probably bought from Coles and the aircon was ineffective. Had to set it to 17C and flat out to even get the room down to a temperature where I wasn't sweating. Hardly slept and won't ever stay here again!'

'Location, parking, gym, pool, everything you need'

'Is based on busy intersection. I checked in on Saturday night. Very busy, lots of people noisey. Was right by lift. Clean room but lots of road noise and screaming from reverse bungy but is right in center of surfers so well placed. Pool looked grubby so didnt use. Staff were helpful and nice'

'Zicht over haven en strand. We hadden een suite dus hebben we kunnen onze strand spullen wassen voorsat we ze terug in de bagage moesten stoppen.'

'Lovely bright apartment, needed updating in a few places but overall we had a lovely stay at apartment 2406. Would stay there again.'

'Room not clean and missing toilet roll holder, and towel rail. Room looked like it was under construction. Told at time of checking in that I had booked two rooms which was definitely not the case. Still have not seen the pending charge disappear from my credit card'
