Very comfortable stay for a Yale campus visit

Voordelen: There were nice surprise snacks provided by the hotel eg almond nuts and choc chip cookies although not everyone in our group received it.
Nadelen: It would be good if the hotel could replenish the complimentary bottle of drinking water each day. Aircon in room was not cold& may need servicing.
Locatie: Many cafes with walking distance- panera, Starbucks, Atticus & orange side all open early at 7am which is perfect for those suffering from jet lag.
We had room 911( 9th floor) facing the front of the hotel which had a nice clear skyline of Yale. The receptionist was helpful to suggest that we sign up for free membership of Omni to enable us to use complimentary wifi.

Attentive service

Room (premier king) was spacious and comfortable. Well situated for visit to Yale campus. What set the hotel apart though was their attentive staff. All requests were quickly and courteously dealt with.

They will give your room to someone else

Voordelen: The location is great.
Nadelen: Fire the manager that gave away my room and didn't have the guts to come up and talk to me.
Locatie: Everything is nearby, absolutely everything. Very convenient to attend any kind of event at Yale.
They gave my room away to someone else, even though I called in advanced and requested a late check in. I paid for a deluxe King-size room. But when I arrived they told me that they could only give me a room with a fold-out bed or a handicap accessible queen size. Or that they could pay for my stay at the Marriot (on the other side of town) on a queen-size bedroom. The manager refused to come out and talk to me. I paid 300 dls for a night but had to stay on a $150 room occupying a room that might have been needed for a person with special needs. What if someone hadicapped needed that room after I checked in? What a joke of "Service" from this "manager". They gave us breakfast passess and waived the parking (a whopping total of 50 bucks) to "make up for it" - Didn't even had plans to eat there, being in the middle of downtown there are plenty of nicer places to eat.

Yale College Tour

Voordelen: The quiet of the air condition/heat units. The choice of in-house restaurant. The views from the room and the courteous staff.
We chose Yale due to it's proximity to the Yale campus. It was a very good choice as it has all amenities.

'Staff Member "not my problem"'

Hotel is situated near a few schools so it can be loud at night (some street festival while I was there). The accommodations were great - nice rooms, nice bed - really quite nice. Except... Why is the rating so low you ask? One staff member in particular. I had a package delivered which they proceeded to tell me was not delivered. I clarified with multiple channels (UPS, USPS, Amazon, etc) and was confirmed the package was delivered. Multiple staff tried to locate the package and was unable - fine enough. If they found it they said they would send it. When the package was found, 'staff member "not my problem"' decided he was going to neither 'confirm nor deny' that they had lost my package, and because he was not going to confirm/deny that I was going to be responsible for shipping said package from the hotel back to my residence. Not only was this one of the WORST customer service experiences I have had the privilege of receiving, it also caused a sour taste for the whole stay at the Omni. And I do feel a little bad about the wonderful lady who helped me try to locate my package the night before - it is because of 'staff member "not my problem"' that this review is as it is.

My wife and I stayed over the weekend to attend an event and the hotel was very nice. Staff are courteous and it is very clean. Love the atmosphere.

Why I will never stay at an OMNI hotel again

Altogether a very good hotel with professional staff. Unfortunately, OMNI corporate policy punishing Select Guests (Loyalty Program) for booking through sites like Hotels.com will prevent me from ever staying in an OMNI hotel anywhere. Unlike airlines, which recognize the choices passengers ultimately make and awards miles to the passenger in the seat regardless of how tickets are procured or who pays, OMNI will not credit nights stayed if booked through sites which OMNI itself takes advantage of, in the obvious knowledge that an occupied room is better than an unoccupied room. Loyalty works both ways, OMNI, and mine will be going elsewhere. You have made Hospitality Business an oxymoron.
