“Good Deal”
Great inexpensive hotel
“Great value hotel in a pretty good location”
We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and we really couldn't fault it at all. Okay, it's 2 star, so you're not really expecting rose petals on the bed etc, etc, but it's good to know that you'll be comfortable during your stay. The room that we were in was quite small, and the bathroom was small with just enough room for a basin, shower and toilet. However, this was perfectly adequate for us as we didn't go to Paris to spend all our time in a hotel room. We never tried the breakfast as we liked taking a walk down to the local patisserie to get croissants - this was also a much cheaper option. The room was cleaned each day and we didn't have any problems in this department. There are no safety deposit boxes in the room, I'm not sure if there is something on reception as we didn't really need one. The staff were friendly every time we came into contact with them, which is always nice to know. Check out on day of departure is at 12, which is quite late and there is also a luggage room where you can leave your bags if you aren't leaving Paris until later in the day.
“Fijn hotel”
Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding prima!
“Good Value”
If you are on a tight budget this hotel is a good option. The individual rooms are a bit claustrophobic but the twin rooms are Ok for European standards. The hotel is clean and has a good atmosphere. The metro is not very close by Parisian standards but its still just a 10-minute walk. Charles De Gaulle airport trains stop quit close, some 2 km away.
“Hotel Magendie”
Spacious room and bathroom(triple). Ample choices of light settings. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast courtyard. Post office across the street. Off the main tourist areas, so very quiet neighborhood. Bit of a hike to the nearest metro with luggage. Only thing missing was a remote for the tv, which we didn't watch too much anyway. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
“Excellent value for money”
This hotel was very pleasant, and represented excellent value for money. I stayed only 1 night, so had no need for any great help from the staff; but all those on reception that I spoke to were friendly and immediately helpful. Overall decor was light and pleasant, room was just what I wanted (quite a bit better than expected from a 2-star hotel). I didn't have breakfast, so can't comment. Other reviews were helpful for how to get there by public transport. Les Gobelins on Metro Line 7 (pink) is slightly nearer (7 minutes brisk walk along Boulevard Arago); Corvisart on Line 6 (green) is about 10 minutes (with a downhill then uphill walk along Rue Corvisart, so perhaps less good if you have much luggage). As an earlier review points out, the hotel entrance is just round the corner in rue Magendie, but the side of the hotel stretches along Rue Corvisart at #6 (it's bigger than I had expected). There are plenty of shops and restaurants (and an ATM) along Boulevard Arago; but also some reasonable bars and restaurants on Rue Corvisart (where I got a coffee for 1.60 euros, compared with 3.90 in the city centre).
“good hotel located in a quiet street. very close to the metro”
this is a cool, quiet located hotel very close to the metro. the effiel tower is about 5 stops away on the metro. easy acess. good value for money. it is a good deal for a budget. definitly will like to go there again on a budgeted trip to paris. the staffs are very helpful including the local residents. i colud not speak french but i felt as if i was living in a reserved area of central london. the only thing is that thier breakfast is not the best you can get but still ok compared to other places.
“very good!”
I like the hotel and the neighborhood. The underground was very near!
“Good value for money”
Just a couple blocks walk from Corvisart Metro station, the hotel was clean, comfortable, fairly modern and well maintained. Room was larger than we expected. Breakfast was usual continental buffet but with boiled eggs but no toast, only buns and croissants. Only complaint was the two pillows supplied which were practically flattened from use and they did not have any spare to give us. Good value for money.
