“Excellent accommodation”

We take a European city break every June, to celebrate our anniversary, usually staying in 3 star hotels, and I can say without doubt that this was the best accommodation that we have booked anywhere so far. We thought we were taking a risk booking an apartment instead of a hotel but not at all, the apartment was huge, well kept, modern, reasonably located and the value for money was fantastic. We stayed in no. 15 (the one you see featured in the pictures) and although it was only my husband and I (we revelled in the space!) it would equally have been an excellent choice had we taken our three children (aged 16, 12 and 2). Having the kitchenette in the apartment was ample substitution for room service, we stocked up on tea/coffee and treats using the supermarkets that are a few hundred yards from the building but ate out at various local restaurants. The building is around 10-15 mins walk from the city centre, about 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest tube but the tram stop to the city centre is virtually outside the door if you prefer not to walk. The reception staff are very friendly and speak good English.

“Big family - best solution”

Ideal for families with 2+ children, who don't want to book 2 rooms in a hotel... Fully equipped apartman with 2 rooms, bathroom, kitchen... Next time in Vienna 1 thing is sure: this will be the hotel for us...

“Location Location Location”

We went for a family holiday for a week and this place was the one of our best finds. The hosts were wonderful...very helpful and welcoming. The apartment was clean and well furnished. The apartments are well located with supermarkets and trams right in front of it. Waking distance to the University and the city centre is just a tram ride away. The closest metro is schottentor which is well connected to all the major rail stations if you fancy atrip to Salisburg or Innsbruck. Will definitely go and stay there.

“Vienna's Little Secret”

This is quite different than staying in a hotel. You have your own apartment that really gives you a feel for what living in the city would be like. The neighborhood is great! It's a quick walk to the city centre.

“Perfect stay, Perfect location”

This hotel was everything all the reviews said it was. The location couldn't have been better. We were able to walk out the door to catch either the city tram or the bus.; easy connections to the subway as well. The room was clean and airy; the beds spotless and comfortable. Equally impressive was the bathroom size. One flight up we had access to a washer, dryer and iron. Be aware that you have to get a special coin from the owner to operate the washing machine, but the dryer and iron were ready to use. I stayed with my 25 year old daughter and my sister-in-law and we all felt very safe in this neighborhood. I was often outside at 1:00 in the morning to have a smoke and never worried about my safety. That could perhaps be said of all of Vienna, but this location was extremely safe. After 6 days, my sister-in-law flew back to the U.S. and my daughter and I left Austria for a 3 day visit in Greece and were to return to Vienna for a one night stay before heading home to the States. We were originally going to book at another place closer to the airport, but instead came back to the Apts der Josefstadt, because we felt so good about it. Well worth it....we loved the place and the location and the owner was a gem; very nice and very helpful. Even when the reception is not open, you can contact her via a buzzer system that is available. Would not think of staying anywhere else if and when I return to Vienna!, Also, taxie stand just across street for getting to airport !

“Great place to stay”

Great value for money. The single room was big and well-furnished with wi-fi and a desk. As a vegetarian it was a big help to be able to buy food and bring it in. Good location near trams and a short walk to historic districts. The kitchen is well-equipped for this kind of place and there's a good small supermarket two minutes away. A very reasonable way to stay in the city. Staff is small and hours are limited. However, everything was waiting for me when I arrived with a key and instructions. Note that the entrance is not on the main road but around the corner and a few doors back. You'll find it. Highly recommended.

“Top accomodation”

High standard fittings and presentation. Helpful management who speak English. Very convenient to the tramline to the ring. Point to watch not all the local grocery shops are open on Sundays.

“Excellent hotel, very well connected near the centre!”

We were very impressed with this hotel during our 4 days in Vienna. The room was massive, nicely decorated, very clean (and cleaned every day) with all the comforts one might need. We loved the fact that it had a kitchen and fridge and we bought supplies from the supermarket across the street and made breakfast in the room every day! The room was really quiet, the beds very comfortable and it was a great experience because it felt that we actually had a whole flat instead of just a room. The TV has a DVD as well! The hotel is extremely well connected and trams 43 and 44 are 2 mins walk and they take you to the centre. The area is buzzing and has shops, supermarkets and pattiseries, which we visited daily! I would definitely stay there again when visiting Vienna and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to go to Vienna for a short or long holiday!

“A gem of a hotel and city”

Nicely secluded just off the main road with very good public transport to all parts of the city and airport. Very comfortable apartment; extremely well equipped kitchen for the self-caterers. tv and cd players to relax to after a hard day's sight-seeing. Finally, the owners and staff were very helpful.
