Hotel New York Helmsley - centrale e comodo
Hotel confortevole, in ottima posizione, vicino alle principali attrazioni, in zona sicura. L’aria condizionata nelle aree comuni è decisamente troppo forte, mentre nelle camere è regolabile a piacimento e silenziosa. Le camere sono ampie, graziose e comode rispetto agli standard newyorkesi, così come il bagno, provvisto di vasca/doccia e asciugacapelli; come sempre, è consigliabile scegliere il letto king size, comodissimo e grande. La pulizia è buona e assidua. Il personale della reception non è particolarmente cordiale e disponibile, ma nel complesso il giudizio sull’hotel resta ampiamente positivo. La colazione è troppo costosa, è consigliabile farla all’Aroma Cafè, buonissimo locale ubicato proprio di fronte.

Hotel Helmsley New York
L’hotel e’ in posizione centrale proprio sotto il Crisler bilding (cosa che aiuta a capire a che distanza si trova l’hotel quando si e’ in giro per New York) Le stanze sono ampie anche se la moquete non e’ proprio nuova, il personale molto disponibile anche se nessuno parlava italiano, per il frigobar abbiamo dovuto chiedere appositamente di installarlo, comunque senza sovrapprezzo. Cosa importante proprio sotto l’hotel ce la CVS che e’ una specie di supermercato (aperto h.24) che ha moti prodotti utili (es. acqua o latte), Di fronte l’hotel un caffe (Aroma) che fa dei cappuccini veramente buoni e ha dolci ottimi della tradizione americana (muffin ecc.). Vicinissima la Central Station con la metro e i bus. Insomma lo consiglierei veramente. L’unica pecca e’ la vista dalle camere che risente dei piani bassi a disposizione dell’hotel (max fino al 40mo piano) Un’altra cosa a cui occorre fare l’abitudine e’ il rumore in sottofondo della strada (che preticamente non finisce mai nenanche nel cuore della notte). Forse l’hotel dovrebbe dotarsi di doppi vetri alle finestre.
