Omgeving rommelig, maar centraal gelegen.
Zeer goed hotel, zowel de voorzieningen als de faciliteiten. Goede sfeer en accomodatie. De servicekwaliteit is hoog. Aan weerszijden van het hotel wordt er gebouwd, dat geeft soms wel wat geluidoverlast.

Good standard hotel, but expensive for services offered. The surroundings are chaotic and not very safe. The outside aspect is nice at the front, but mediocre on the sides and back. Service is somewhat chaotic, not always totally competent, although always friendly.

Dit hotel overtreft alles. De service, zwembad, ontbijt, er ontbreekt je aan niets. Iedereen aan te reden. Goede en diverse restaurants in het hotel.

Das Hotel ist im Zentrum von Addis, in "Kazanchis". Dort findet man einfach alles. Von der Deutschen Bäckerei "Kaiser" bis Jazz Live show Mittwochs um die Ecke in "Breeze". Das Personal ist stets freundlich und das Zimmer sehr sauber. Wenn ich wieder in Addis bin, bin ich bestimmt wieder dort ;-)

Clean room and very friendly staff. Nice to have pool and gym. Breakfast is good value. Internet was fast. Location is very good. However the state of disrepair of the rooms was disappointing (balcony doors would not lock in two Different rooms, the safes did not work in either room, and the television reception was barely useable). Overall I would stay here again if the price was below that of neighboring hotels which offer better amenities and nicer lobby environments.

This is definitely NOT a 5-star hotel. Maybe a 3. I don’t understand in what way they rate themselves as 5. The service was slow and inadequate (they constantly forgot to put utensils in the dining room or to even take our orders properly). The staff is unprofessional and lacks simple logic (they forgot to call our shuttle bus to the airport, forgot to send in room service, offered spa that didn’t work...). The rooms are not cleaned properly (dirty towels are not replaced, sheets aren’t changed, floor isn’t cleaned...). The food is just so so (The breakfast buffet is tasteless for the most part). Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. For the price you pay, this is inadmissible. Bad management all around. I’m surprised they haven’t been sued for using the name Intercontinental since they are not part of that chain. They’re giving that hotel a very bad name.

Absolutely horrible experience. Misleading to be a brand name hotel. No affiliation with the ihg properties. Hotel is old and rundown. Definitely not a 5star. No hot water and the bedsheets had a horrible smell. Will not recommend this hotel!

No generator backup at this 5star level hotel.
Først stay at Intercontinental Addis Ababa. Nice lobby and rooftop pool. But very worn and torn room and bathroom at 3rd floor. Not a 5star level at all. The electricity at the gym were not present, which affected the use of threadmill, stepmachines etc., and the hotel didnt have any generator backup. Again not a 5star lever.

Despite booking a Deluxe room, it was on the small size. The staff were also somewhat offhanded. The driver who picked me up from the airport did not understand what I needed him to do.

Not a true Intercontinental Hotel.
We booked the hotel, thinking it was a part of the Intercontinental Hotel chain. It is not. While the lobby looked fairly nice, the room was very worn out, the restaurant didn't have many things on the menu, and it was an overall disappointment to what we expected.

This was a horrific hotel. After arriving at 11:30pm, I arrived with a group and they told us that they had overbooked the hotel and had to bus us somewhere else. There was no choice in this and no warning. They bused us to an even worse hotel that didn't feel safe and was less quality that what we had paid for. The hotel is horribly mismanaged and touts itself as a 5 star hotel. Then they had a problem with the booking when I tried to check out. I had already paid but they had no record of me paying. I had to argue with reception for 45 minutes for them to finally realize that I had paid and check me out. The hotel rooms were dirty, the wifi never worked, the food made most of my colleagues sick, but the worst part was being forced to stay in a hotel that was even worse and not receiving any compensation. I would not recommend this hotel if you want a reliable room. Also, it is NOT part of the intercontinental chain.

Highlights. The name is misleading, it is not an Intercontinental Brand therefore the expectations are set high and the reality is extremely disappointing. Very poorly run hotel with things breaking down. What I liked Their room wifi is extremely good and one of the best in Addis Ababa. Major Issues My room door lock kept getting broken during my stay and this seemed not to be a big concern for the hotel, I had to call repairs three times. I was locked inside the room on four occasions where I could not get out without someone from front office coming to open the door from outside. Worse still they never fixed the door even after I kept complaining, I had to check out two days earlier and look for another hotel. Amenities The hotel has a spacious gym though this also has broken down equipment either not working entirely or uncomfortable to use. Breakfast Very Poor.

The service is one of the worst I have experienced in recent time, it took the front desk staff over one hour thirty minutes to confirm my booking and assign a room to me. I ordered for food, it too over 2 hours after several reminders for the food to be brought to my room and another 1hr for the waiter to bring the bill for me to sign, banging my door when I had already slept with my experience in Adis ababa I do not think I will ever stay in any intercontinental hotel again.

Decent Hotel, Comfortable Hotel, Not too crowded.
1st room was terrible. Couldn't get in with the key card. The manual key they gave me jammed. The door handle fell off and the internet didn't work. The 2nd room I had was much better. Everything worked. Restaurant food was nice. Good friendly staff, though not everything on the menu was available and other times additional items were forgotten. Pool was great and being open to 10pm was a real bonus when you have a busy work schedule. If anything this hotel needs a bit of cash spent to repair some of the tired facilities.
