The location was really good. You van go everywhere within a few minutes walk. The rooms where pretty amazing. We had a side sight of the cathedral, wich was beautiful. All the staff in the hotel are helling you Nice and friendly. Amazing stay in our father/ daughter trip to Barcelona.

Fijn en comfortabel hotel met een geweldige ligging. We hebben alles lopend kunnen doen. Ruime kamer en badkamer. Scheermesje, tandenborstels met tandpasta, shampoo, conditioner, zeep en bodylotion, badjassen en slippers, alles is er. Een bezoek aan de rooftop is zeker de moeite waard. Wat een uitzicht. Kamers zijn wel gehorig. Last gehad van luidruchtige Engelsen 's nachts maar de bewaking was er binnen een minuut en handelde het direct af. Hotel Colon is niet goedkoop maar zeker de moeite waard.

Hotel Colón heeft een perfecte ligging tegenover de Kathedraal precies tussen El Born en de Gotisch wijk. Beter kun je het niet hebben, het hele centrum op loopafstand. Het personeel, de kamer en het ontbijt lieten niets te wensen over.

Perfecte ligging, direct in de oude stad met haar vele pleintjes, straatjes en winkeltjes. Super schoon hotel. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Boek een kamer met uitzicht op de kerk en het plein, en beleef de vibe van Barcelona ook vanuit je kamer. Is echt de moeite waard.

Echt een super verblijf. We konden onze check out niet uitstellen maar mochten wel onze koffers achterlaten en later nog in de lobby van het toilet gebruik maken. Het zwembad is wel heel klein, we konden daar geen gebruik van maken omdat er al 4 mensen zaten en 1 in het zwembadje, daar kan je niet meer bij zitten omdat het echt heel klein is. Verder een prachtig hotel, goede service, heerlijk ontbijt. De kamers wel wat gehorig, we hoorden snachts onze buren terug komen en nog een uur kletsen. Verder echt prachtig en heel schoon.

The junior suite is very luxurious! However it could be more decorative and is pretty empty. Elevator is too small and too slow. Overall excellent customer service. Raquelle was very nice. The roof top can get little busy at night. So if you plan to go there it’s recommended to go on daytime. However when we went there, it was closed for maintenance. That might be unlucky on our part. Overall it is great! We’ll stay here again.

Over all we had a great stay at hotel. Only true downside (which isn’t hotels felt) is noise from street was loud, we had been traveling so we were pretty exhausted and the street noise kept us up, tell wee hours of the night. We paid for the breakfast buffet, I would return just for that it was fantastic. One waitstaff member seemed bothered over guests but every other staff member throughout the hotel was helpful and kind. Maybe she was just having an off week. Staff was very accommodating to holding our luggage before and after check out. We had a wonderful stay and hope to stay again.

Our experience at Hotel Colon was not what we were hoping for, it was very disappointing. On the plus side the Hotel was clean, with a beautifully decorated lobby, nice breakfast and dining room and great views of the Gothic Cathedral. We were in the family penthouse suite, which had an amazing terrace.It was late March and pretty cool outside, but still lovely. The room itself was much smaller than we anticipated. The closet space was completely insufficient. There were only 3 of us, but the pull out was a double so there could have been 4. There was no dresser and only night stand tables, so no drawers. The closet was completely insufficient for a family considering it was the only storage. I've had bigger closets in Paris in a double occupancy room. The pull out was another problem. It set up as pulled out all the time and could not be put back to a couch . We asked the hotel to do so and they said it could not be done without great effort, so they were not going to pull it out each day we just had to live with it in bed mode. The bathroom was also very disappointing as there was a frosted class door on the toilet and shower, but no other door. This makes no sense in a suite for families and photos online were deceptive and did not reveal this or I would not have booked it. Worst of all the staff was about 60/40 on not acting irritated by request that were standard items.

Loved the location! We had the cathedral view and it was worth it. It could get a bit noisy at night but when we closed the doors to the balcony it was quiet. The room did get warm at night so we often left the doors open, and got to hear all the fun going on down in the square. The Gothic Quarter was the best. I am so happy we chose to stay at this hotel.

Probably the best location in Barcelona, this is a fabulous hotel, if possible reserve a room with a view of the Cathedral, it is something special. A must is the rooftop bar for a glass of bubbles. The hotel itself was immaculate, we stayed for 3 days. The staff are very attentive and eager to help, super friendly. We couldn't recommend Hotel Colon too highly!

This was our first time visiting Barcelona. After some research, we knew we wanted to stay in the Gothic Quarter area. This hotel is located right across the courtyard from the Cathedral de Barcelona. The rooftop bar allows for picturesque views of the Cathedral and surrounding area. There was a line in front of the hotel each night of our stay for bar access, however hotel guests take presidents and are granted seats. We found several unique tapas bars along the surrounding alleys & were never disappointed with the food and wine selection. In addition, the Mercer de Santa Catarina was a 4 minute walk from the hotel. There we enjoyed a quick & satisfying breakfast and shopping for gifts & treats to bring home. All cured meats, cheeses, and preserved vegetables are available in vacuum sealed bags for travel. Along with easy locations for tapas and shopping, we were able to walk about 20 minutes to Sagrada Familia. Be sure to purchase tickets on the official website a few weeks in advance to guarantee entree. The hotel lobby is elegant, our room was clean, pushed together twin beds were still comfortable. The only suggestion I have, do not pay extra for breakfast included in your stay. If you can wait until the usual 9:00am opening hours, there are several cafes for coffee & pastries, and the market has 2 bars/cafes with coffee, cava, pastries, and various traditional breakfast dishes.

Hotel Colón Barcelona is walking distances to the Gothic quarter, La Rambla, El Mercado Bocqueria, besides all the tapas eateries, cafes, pastry shops. The hotel was very clean and immaculate; The hotel staff and front desk is always cordial, friendly and provided assistance with sighs and directions. I would return to Hotel Colón again for my future stay.

The property is lovely. The staff is quite helpful. The view is terrible. Unless maybe you are on floor 5(top) you will be staring at trees and have no view of the amazing cathedral. The listing does not suggest this at all.

Perfect location for exploring Barcelona on foot. Plenty of restaurants, bakeries, shops etc nearby. The sound proofing in the hotel is not great and you will hear the other quests moving around, and cleaning on Sunday morning started around 0700. But I would go back and stay again.

Things we liked - best location, best customer service we have ever had, they offered us complementary transportation to the train station. Again, The customer service is 10 stars….. Things we had problems with - no air conditioning available during our visit ( late february ) while temperatures are low this rime of year, there are exceptions like in our case. Our room was very hot, about 70-73 degrees inside. It was very difficult to sleep at night even with the small fan they provided. Another problem is there was 1 elevator broken during the 3 days we stayed, the other one available is very small and was very busy all the time. We had to climb 5 flights of stairs several times. Overall, we gave 5 stars because the staff and customer service was outstanding!!!!!!
