Lovely historic building in a very central location. I wish the tip tap top was actually open and there were more going on in the building than just limited bar hours, but it’s clean, quiet and comfortable

This hotel had its ups and down. First when we arrived we had to wait 3hrs after the check in time even when promised we would receive early check in. The front desk wasn’t so helpful about the situation.they ended up having to upgrade us to a different room in which the fridge didn’t work. Now don’t get me wrong the hotel is beautiful and beds and pillows were comfortable. but I would say that the valet parking was $65 a day. The parking lot next door cost $59 dollar a day. None the less The area is beautiful and near shops, restaurants, and museums which was a plus.

One thing I wish I knew before booking was the timing of being able to leave our bags prior to check-in. We arrived in Chicago early in the morning and got to the hotel around 6 am. We asked if we could leave our bags until check-in and were told that the person who deals with bags would not be in until 7-7:30 am. We ended up waiting until 8:30 am until the designated staff came in. We were then told that we had to get our bags before 4 pm, which is when the staff member's shift ends. Maybe we should have called first to ask, but for a 4-star hotel, I expected more flexible hours. Other less important gripes: no "Do not disturb" sign, I think housekeeper might have vacuumed because I came back with my charging cable under a heavy table which caused it to become frayed and damaged. Overall, it was an OK experience. It was clean, staff was friendly, and it is in a very convenient location. I think if I came back to Chicago though, I would pick a different hotel.

Room nicely appointed , however lingering smell upon arrival, possible cig smoking in room? Carpet could have been cleaner. The bed & linens lovely , bathroom was clean and lovely. The bar was well done & we enjoyed the bar staff. Will definitely return. Renovation well done!

Excelente ubicación la habitación es pequeña pero está muy cómoda, muy limpia el único problema que le vi es que el aire acondicionado no enfriaba y hacía bastante calor, pero todo lo demás excelente y todo queda muy cerca incluso caminando!

Its location can’t be beat, right in the middle of everything. Lobby is in good condition, but rooms need to be refresh asap. Bed was a nightmare, mattress and pillow left both of us with 2 day neck pain. The bathroom shower didn’t close every shower was a flood zone. HVAC system didn’t worked at all. It’s a shame that so good of a property is like this.

Had a GREAT stay at the Allerton! For a fairly affordable daily rate, we could not have hoped for anything better. We loved the premises, the lounge, the staff were all so kind and accommodating, location was perfect for us—great spot of mag mile, and walkable to many options for attractions/dining. We also loved the in house gym (with great city views). Room (standard queen) was small, but perfect for us, nice and tidy and comfortable. My ONLY suggestion to the hotel, is possibly putting up a mirror outside of the bathrooms, in the actual rooms! To allow for 2 people to get ready at one time. Otherwise/regardless, I was so happy with this choice of hotel!

We liked the convenience of the property location and the walkable distance to things in the surrounding area. But, we felt that we did not get our moneys worth. As soon as we arrived, it seemed that the receptionist was very short with us, and didn’t care to accommodate to our needs. We spent most of the day out of the hotel but when we returned at night, we realized we only were given no blankets and the sheets were too thin, so we called reception to get more, and they sent some up but again, receptionist seemed extremely irritated to be talking to us. We then realized we only received 1 towel for 3 of us so we had to call again and we were just told to ask the person bringing the blanket and we got hung up on. The man who gave us the blankets and towels was very nice. Later in the night, we were disturbed multiple times by screaming, and loud door slamming which we let go on for a few hours before calling the desk to let them know. Security was alerted but it never stopped. It also sounded like glass was shattering in the hallway which should be an immediate concern for the safety of all guests. The front desk also mentioned that security would come to our door to speak to us, but never did. We felt unsafe in the environment and after calling reception, the extremely loud noise continued for a couple of hours before we put headphones on just so we could fall asleep. We have stayed in other hotels owned by the Warwick company and have never experienced such disappointment.

Quaint, older hotel, staff very friendly. Only problems, clock didn't work in the room, no phone book or info on restaurants in the area especially with them not offering food on site.
