Fun old hotel in great condition right off of Michigan Ave. Definitely would stay again.

Lovely historic building in a very central location. I wish the tip tap top was actually open and there were more going on in the building than just limited bar hours, but it’s clean, quiet and comfortable

Amazing location with GREAT VIEWS of Michigan Ave! Loved the hotel and very pleased with the rooms and our stay!

This hotel had its ups and down. First when we arrived we had to wait 3hrs after the check in time even when promised we would receive early check in. The front desk wasn’t so helpful about the situation.they ended up having to upgrade us to a different room in which the fridge didn’t work. Now don’t get me wrong the hotel is beautiful and beds and pillows were comfortable. but I would say that the valet parking was $65 a day. The parking lot next door cost $59 dollar a day. None the less The area is beautiful and near shops, restaurants, and museums which was a plus.

One thing I wish I knew before booking was the timing of being able to leave our bags prior to check-in. We arrived in Chicago early in the morning and got to the hotel around 6 am. We asked if we could leave our bags until check-in and were told that the person who deals with bags would not be in until 7-7:30 am. We ended up waiting until 8:30 am until the designated staff came in. We were then told that we had to get our bags before 4 pm, which is when the staff member's shift ends. Maybe we should have called first to ask, but for a 4-star hotel, I expected more flexible hours.
Other less important gripes: no "Do not disturb" sign, I think housekeeper might have vacuumed because I came back with my charging cable under a heavy table which caused it to become frayed and damaged.
Overall, it was an OK experience. It was clean, staff was friendly, and it is in a very convenient location. I think if I came back to Chicago though, I would pick a different hotel.

Room nicely appointed , however lingering smell upon arrival, possible cig smoking in room? Carpet could have been cleaner. The bed & linens lovely , bathroom was clean and lovely. The bar was well done & we enjoyed the bar staff. Will definitely return. Renovation well done!
