Construction is still going on so when you’re dining or sitting at the pool you are hearing all the construction noises. We stayed in the West wing which had not been updated yet; the elevator to the fourth floor rarely worked and the room itself needed updating. While the bathroom had been newly renovated, the cleanliness of it, especially the shower, left a lot to be desired. Twice the fire alarms went off which was jarring and definitely interfered with Island relaxation vibes; both times the alarms continue to go off and access five minutes. When we checked in, they were experiencing problems with their computer system and could not process our credit card for the room, so rather than telling us to just take care of it later, we stood there for about 25 minutes until I asked if we could go to our rooms and take care of it later. The resort itself has potential to be beautiful, the dining option was good but $24 for avocado toast is ridiculous. They charged us to upgrade the room and with all the inconveniences from the outdated and dingy room to the fire alarms I wish I had not paid over $300 to upgrade because it was not worth it.
