I can understand the unexpected but not lack of communication or care.
We booked this townhome and had great communication until the day of check in. Apparently there was a leak that the owners were unaware of, ok I can understand that, but what I cannot understand is not communicating effectively. I received emails/inbox messages through VRBO. I was driving to Orlando (7 hour drive) so unable to check these messages, never did I receive a call!This is copy/pasted directly from our check in instructions from them, “ If no answer, LEAVE A MESSAGE! Do NOT hang up - ALWAYS leave a message!”A few days before our trip, I had been communicating with the owner about arrival times and we were told we could check in at 2pm and it was mentioned we had expensive medications that need refrigeration before heading to the parks and we now had a grocery pick up order with perishable items and were told we were not on the list when our stay was fully paid for and I had given all the proper information for check in, and NO ONE ever returned my multiple calls until I called VRBO because I became panicked that we had been scammed and they reached out to the owner. Then I received another inbox message saying they did call me early that morning, but I did not have any missed calls and certainly no voicemails from them. They never offered any kind of help and did not seem to care that we were stranded. It would have been nice of them to acknowledge the huge inconvenience and actually speak to me over the phone instead of sending messages and avoid phone calls.
