I have hesitated to write a review only because I don’t want this place to get ruined by hoards of people going there 😂. What a gem! I hadn’t been back to the Puerto Plata area in ages. We have been to many 5 star hotels in Punta Cana and this one has nothing to envy from those. The place is as beautiful as the pictures if not more. Service is 10/10. The food is AMAZING, literally not one bad or bland meal. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive but never hovering over you- they let you be. We are actually returning to celebrate our birthdays there (my daughter and I). The only thing I will say is that this place is definitely for relaxing, I think we were the noisy ones there. It’d be nice if they had some type of entertainment at least on the weekends for people who want a more lively atmosphere, for me the pianist in the lobby during Sat night dinner was perfect- (great tunes!), but I know other people would maybe want something more interactive. The place is immaculate, super clean. Keep doing what you’re doing Casa Colonial and from the bottom of our hearts, a huge thank you to the entire staff- Odalis, Victoria (breakfast/pool), Luz from the bar, Lissette from concierge, Rafael, Nelson and all the waiters, Yeniz and all the cleaning ladies.

Beautiful resort on quiet beach area in Puerto Plata. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Even though the property was full, it was quiet and peaceful. The restaurant serves delicious meals and there is a fantastic bar in the main building. Wonderful property. I will return.

Casa Colonial Beach is the perfect getaway paradise. The buildings were beautiful and clean. The staff took great care to get to know us and always provided a personal touch. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. We plan on returning in the future. It is hidden gem!

Stunning architecture and beautiful lobby/front desk area. Clean and gorgeous rooms with lots of space sand gorgeous view. The staff is super friendly and very professional, all very pleasant and helpful. The spa is very well equipped and nice. The pool is for relaxing, not more than 4ft infinity style, the lounge area by the pool is soooo cute and there’s hot tubs with spectacular views! The hotel surroundings are simply breathtaking full of tropical greenery. The beach was y believe calm and warm. The breakfast/lunch restaurant very accommodating and the food is superb. The staff there is also great. The only thing my husband and I did not appreciate was the outrageously expensive menu at Lucia, the dinner restaurant. We had bottled water, one glass of wine, one salad, one shared appetizer and two fish dinners and the bill was nearly $260 without tip. Without a bottle of wine, even in the US, that was a bit much! After the experience, we decided to drive around for dinner restaurants and found try gems. Casa Colonial is overall a hotel everyone needs to experience when in Puerto Plata!

Exclusive and well maintained. It is not an all inclusive and that sets it above and apart. Excellent service. Excellent maintenance. The properties around this property are somewhat rundown or abandoned. Food here was limited, expensive and mediocre.

Love how beautiful and super clean this hotel is. Surrounded by greens, love the nature aspect of this hotel, beach front and well located in Playa Dorada. Sad to say that staff needs better customer service. Front desk was great, but waiters were awful, definitely better service is imperative.

We have been guests of Casa Colonial for three years, and after every visit we plan to return. It is a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the beach. The service is so accommodating they anticipate most needs. And the grounds are beautiful!!!

A real pleasure to be surrounded by the beautiful grounds with kind and helpful staff. The rooms are luxurious and the eating options are fresh and imaginative. The restaurant has nice variety and has added a vegetable forward menu which was much appreciated by this vegetarian. This is a place to relax and de-stress. No night life except for a very nice restaurant. Just what we needed!

This was a lovely place, excellent staff and beautiful grounds! Clean beach. The beaches nearby were not as clean. The food was delicious but it was the same choices everyday, however there were plenty to choose from. The beach is very close so you can hear the waves. The drinks are delicious. The massage was amazing. Everyone is very kind and cordial. It’s quiet and peaceful. The only complaint was that the pool and hot tubs were under construction and we didn’t know this. They emailed us to tell us but it went to our spam so we never knew. There’s nothing on the website about this. We were highly disappointed about not having a pool or hot tub! With those are in working order, we would give 5 stars.

Where simplicity & nature meet. This was my 1st time at this property and I was accompanied by my 9 years-old daughter and 2 nieces. In general, the hotel is purely for people looking for a luxurious peace and quiet environment. The opening of a huge black gate, gives you full entrance to an enchanted mansion. The quietness/ peaceful ambiance coming from each corner of this property are pure heaven; the delicacy/simplicity emanating from every detail (e.i. rooms signaling embroidered in linen hand handkerchiefs) was so classic. One of the suites had my daughter's name "Dalia" embroidered - it was very sweet! ; the green and beautiful landscape as well as the multiple plants climbing and surrounding its columns/walls leaves you loving nature even more; the fresh/tasteful menu from its 2 restaurants were so delicious; The beach in general was good, no the best in DR, but good. Lastly, the people. The staffs were without a doubt the pure reflection of the hotel (both hotel/staffs are genuinely a good match!). The staffs - in its totality - portrayed such a peaceful/educated posture. The already aforementioned are the reasons why I tryly enjoyed my first time at this property. I trust that what I wrote gives you a quick glimpse of what to expect if you are in seach of a resort purely for relaxation purpose. I feel that I don't even need to mention how modern and well-equipped rooms were, and the Spa (I booked an 80 minutes aromatic massage- heaven!). Hope is helpful!
