For us, not again

The Chateau and the room with park view looked nice, but this hotel needs urgent maintenance (and better management). The safebox was out of order (it seemed that the note on the safebox was there for some time). We could not take a shower at all, since the drain was fully blocked and dirty. The water did not drain at all. Showering in someone else's dirt! We were told that we could use the shower in the hallway, used by the students. Finally, we got another room in the chalet building (which does not not at all have the same Chateau look and feel). Also here the shower drain was completely dirty and not cleaned for a long time, but at least the water drained away. There was no alternative other than to accept this for the night. The room was full of flies, which was normal according to the receptionist. The (new) airconditioning was not connected and the room view was 1 meter from the construction site behind the building, loaded with gas tanks. Breakfast was okay. After receiving a partial refund for the room charge, quickly left. For us, never again. Unfortunately, because with good management, professional staff and high level client services, this hotel could really be great.

Thank you for your comment.We understand that you are disappointed as you did reserve a room in the main building of the Chateau and that you finally slept in the other building.However,our team tried everything to satisfy your needs and you ended up having 2 rooms at your disposition.As our director explained,the problem you encountered is not about hygiene but it’s technical.We don't accept you blaming us for not having cleaned the shower during a long time.Our team tried to explain this to you,but obviously you didn't want to listen.This is probably the reason why you’re writing that our staff and our management is not professional,which is absolutely not the case.As you’ll notice in the guest reviews which you can find on several websites our staff is highly rated and appreciated and also true for the hygiene of our rooms.The alternative room we gave you was not full of flies but there was one or two in the room-it is summer,the window was partially open to let in some fresh air in and we are surrounded by nature and a beautiful park.I would also point out that we didn't advertise that the room had air conditioning thus your complaint regarding this topic is really not justified.Last but not least you write that you received a partial refund this point is very concrete and it seems that you are acting in bad faith:we did gave you back the whole amount of your stay which was indicated on the confirmation of Hotels.com,we explained to you that we could not refund the travel agency fees you did pay for the booking.We are really not used to face such situations as we always do our best to meet our guests expectations and make them happy.Our priority is to have happy and satisfied guests that’s why our director apologized several times and even decided to refund the full room rate but apparently there was no way to satisfy you which is unfortunate
