Take a drive from Hoi An to Hue by private car, stopping at scenic views and important landmarks along the way on an 8- to 9-hour excursion.

After pickup from your hotel in the Hoi An city centre, start your trip with the highlight: a visit to My Son Sanctuary, a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries. Even partially ravaged by time and war, these gorgeous ruins are still worth a trip.

Next, stop at the Marble Mountains, famous for their image of rocky peaks rising above homes and resorts. Here, you’ll learn about Buddhism and see religious architecture that exists in harmony with nature. Continue on to Hai Van Pass, where there are vestiges of an ancient fortified gateway. At the peak is a rest station where you can take a break and enjoy a coffee.

Just 60 kilometres from Hue, you’ll stop at the serene fishing township of Lang Co, whose beach was recognised in 2009 as one of the 30 most beautiful bays in the world. Sample some local seafood before continuing on to Lap An Lagoon, surrounded by Bach Ma Mountain Range, an incredibly popular tourist destination.

Your last stop will be Hue Fishing Village, located on a bio-diverse lagoon full of rare and valuable marine products. Locals here survive by catching fish and shrimp and selling them to local markets.

Finally, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Hue.
