"Old time hotel things are only like twelve units. Parked right in front of the room. The heaters were wall heaters. It was like a blast from the seventies, but I really enjoyed it as the properties and a beautiful part of the country. Made me almost feel like I was a kid again. "Feeling outdoors-y? If you've been to South Lake and ready for a more remote Tahoe experience, this is a cozy place that's not too remote. Markleeville has creature comforts, so don't worry if you forget some staple items. Grover Hot Springs is worth a visit and a hike to the waterfalls. The hot springs are fabulous, but reserve 2 days in advance online. Kirkwood is the best ski resort of the bunch, and it's just 35 minutes away. The house is great and has simple appliances that are easy to figure out. We enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable."
