Ideal location for the train station just a shame the hotel was very run down. Our room door didn’t lock properly. The staff were helpful and did try to move us twice but the other 2 rooms had a terrible smell so we stuck with our original room. Won’t be going back in a hurry but served a purpose.

Paid near on £200 for one night. The room was very poor but clean. The headboard was not connected to the bed. The bath enamel in poor condition. Hence I did not use the shower. Appreciate it an very old hotel with lots of history and character but on this experience cannot justify the price.

The hotel would benefit from a total refurbishment! It’s old and tired! Our room was clean but the bathroom needed attention and was a little mouldy with cracked tiles and dirty windows sill. We are convince we saw drug deals being done in the bar later on on the evening which the bar staff were oblivious too or they were in the know! Had there been anyone around reception we would’ve alerted them to this!! Reception was under staffed all the time and there was quite a wait to check in and out

Room was clean and quiet. This hotel is deceptively large. Staff were helpful. Very central to all attractions, and has a car park if required. Car park and room WiFi are extra cost and not included in room rate.
