Hard to fault this place, the room was excellent, extremely well appointed with some nice little touches to welcome you. The place itself has been sympathetically furnished and decorated, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had.

Beautiful manor, with great people running it. Stayed for one night in the suite for my birthday with my partner. Received complimentary cake, biscuits and fresh milk on arrival. Aswell as advice on what to do and see and good places to dine. Can’t fault the place, also received a complimentary bottle of Prosecco with a card wishing me a happy birthday. Very thoughtful of them. Enjoy.

Another wonderful stay
Beautiful, large, traditionally decorated room with modern bathroom. Drink making facilities (teapot, nespresso machine, milk frother) and mini fridge with fresh milk and water. Also a decanter of complimerary sherry in the room. Every detail has been thought of and you feel as if you have stepped back in time. We were shown to our room and 5 minutes later a plate of homemade cakes were delivered. Breakfast was the best one we have had. Fresh fruit and yogurt, full English and toast. Also lighter options like eggs benedict or toasted banana bread with yogurt and honey. Everything was perfect. If you want a high quality stay then this is the perfect place.

Hotel was well located and breakfast offering was great. Nice little touches like homemade shortbread biscuits in the bedroom, plenty of books to read and lovely lounge areas.

The lication was lovley the hotel a outstanding and in one of the best i stayed in the service by staff was outstanding could not do enougth . Breakfast was amazing very silver service. The rooms where well sized and very quiert no noise from other guests.

Excellent!
Spotlessly clean, our spacious and tastefully decorated suite was delightful. We had the warmest of greetings from Ben. Both he and Richard, the owner were incredibly helpful and efficient. The breakfast was excellent. We can totally unreservedly recommend. Great value for money as well!

Amazing hotel and excellent stay. Cant recommend it enough. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stopped in! We will definitely be back as anything else will be disappointing now

Superb first impression and greeting. The Manor House is immaculate, exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The suite and bathrooms were fantastic with a copper free standing bath and marble throughout the bathroom. Very peaceful and quiet with top quality bed and bedding. Vast array of special touches and extras. Breakfast was a first class experience with exceptional service and attention to detail Thanks for a wonderful stay

Lovely house and a really warm welcome. Rooms are gorgeous and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and lots to choose from. Not far from many lovely places. Highly recommended.

Loved the place, I've had the good fortune to stay in many hotels world wide and both the hotel and hospitality at the West Layton Manor is second to none. Scores 5 star in comfort and hospitality across the board. Great location close to A66, Richmond and Castle Bernard yet out in the open countryside.

Fab little hotel in North Yorks
This beautiful house is set in a lovely spot in a tiny quiet village, remarkably only 5 mins from the A1M at Scoch Corner. Room was lovely. Owner a really nice chap. Breakfast top notch. Can't fault the place and would always choose it again when in the North East.

Stay at the manor
Not so little gem on the A66. Very relaxing experience if only for one night. Lovely to be met at the door and you can’t beat the breakfast here for pure opulence.

Beautiful manor house in stunning setting.
Was met at the door buy Karl. Very polite an could not do enough for us during our weekend break. The breakfast was stunning an the room was brilliant. Looking forward to going back in the new year an staying again. I travel with my job an cover the UK an this manor is one of the best I've come across if not the best.

A fantastic find that you will struggle to better. Great host providing 5* service, beautiful luxurious rooms with everything you could wish for and a superb breakfast with everything sourced locally. Would definitely recommend.

Romantic get away
Upon arrival, the fire was lit in the lobby - lovely November reception. Staff were helpful, came to carry the bags from the car. My partner and I were upgraded to the suite, which was stunning. Breakfast was gorgeous! Cooked lovely, with continental items on offer. The only down side, if you can call it that, was that the room was chilly slightly. However, there was a heated provided in the room. I loved my stay, wish I had arrived earlier on the Saturday afternoon so I could have enjoyed the house a bit more. It is stunning! So relaxing, I would definitely return

What a charming place this is , from driving up the entrance looked pretty grand ,wow ,the owner greeted us and couldn't have been more helpful,the room was very grand , the nice touches were chocolate in the room, nice glass of sweet sherry , milk, water , coffee maker, mini fridge , clarins toiletries, the room was spotless ,bathroom was very modern ,there is nothing about this little gem to fault, breakfast perfect ,all local products .
