Give yourself a couple of hours here - there are loads of smaller gardens and temples in the the complex as well as the long shopping street. Lots going on.

If you want to be in the heart of the intense Shinjuku action, this hotel is the nicest and cleanest one by far. It appears to be recently built - it almost looks out of place in the neighborhood it’s so new. The staff were very polite and accommodating and the rates were reasonable. Shinjuku can be extremely busy with nightlife activities so take that into consideration when staying in these areas.

The Staff were extremely helpful in everything. The hotel was within walking distance to the train and to many other food spots. Would definitely recommend and I would come back

Explore the side streets around the temple , there are many shops selling better quality Japanese crafts and vintage kimonos. Go early and avoid weekends, it gets very crowded.
