Fijn verblijf in een echt Ethiopisch hotel
Fijn om in een echt Ethiopisch hotel te verblijven met heel oude geschiedenis. De tuin is prachtig. De service is geweldig. Ik ben blij met dit hotel.

Pleasant stay in characteristic hotel
Ghion Hotel is a very pleasant hotel to stay. The surroundings are excellent, including park and swimming pool, in the heart of the city. The hotel has a great history. Service staff is always willing to help. The rooms need some updating maybe, but the beds are excellent, and the shower is always hot. Personally I like Ghion Hotel much.

Very attentive and efficient staff...
In spite of that their facilities show in some parts the time passing, all staff is very attentive and efficient; gardens are enjoyable, also the Jazz club, is well ocated near the National Museum, bus and metro stations, view from Woreknesh Genet Restaurant.

Det er fantastiske å overnatte på Gh.ho, grunnet at stillheten og renhet er glimrende. Men man må betale ekstra for å trene, på den package er det inkluderer trening også i trur.

not a place I would come again.
it's mega fumbled-old and no hot water! dirty. I left the hotel 3 days early because it was not to sleep in such an old bed. TV didn't work at all. pasonale was super sweet. but the hotel needs a serious upgrade without mold etc.

The garden area is really good, spacious and well kept with ample security. The staff are very polite and helpful. The T.V situation is poor and needs attention. There are no Tea or coffee making facilities and some of the rooms are void of a fridge. I found the hotel good value for money and will definately try to rebook.

The property needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch. For example no water came out when you turn on the hot water. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful

Shopper beware. I stay in hotels 200 nights a year I always look for the best in spite of potential surprises in a hotel. I read the reviews for this hotel prior to booking and thought it couldn’t be that bad. After all, it was self described with 4 stars and the pics looked wonderful. I should say the nature around the hotel was stunning and extremely impressive as was security for such a large complex. The WiFi was a major challenge going in/out with no consistency. I booked for 2 adults. At breakfast time I asked for a glass of water and found there was an extra charge, I was billed for the second adult breakfast even though the Orbitz confirmation indicated free breakfast for two. If you’re interested in using the gym there was a charge There was a beautiful Olympic size pool on the property but it too had a charge. The employees were not friendly especially those in the breakfast hall. The lady who checked me in was very nice but after so many problems I just couldn’t wait to check out. The interior and exterior of the hotel needs a major renovation. I won’t return again. Rate: 2/10

Dear Peter,Thank you for sharing your feed back we will use it to improve our services I wish you brought this to our management attention so we could have solved the issue while you were here because we do provide free access to the pool and gym to our room guests and there are charges that apply when using extra products and services at breakfast time like bottled water but our breakfast dose include a buffet with different meal type and options we also serve hot beverages and different selection of juice's during the time of your stay we were also experiencing internet interruption in a national scale all in all we sincerely like to apologize for not making your stay more enjoyable we hope we will get another chance to prove our self.Best wishes. During my stay at Gihon Addis Ababa hotel what I like about this hotel is safe and quiet attractive park and huge out door swimming pool of course the delicious food. When it comes to customer service,the hotel management have to work hard.

They charged my credit card for no reason and declined to refund. I called so many times but nobody willing to refund. They offered reimbursement in kind. That being said the breakfast is very good and they have a beautiful compound. It has a big potential if they have a good management.

Reservation was totally screwed up to the point where my three traveling companions and I ended up sharing one room (two single beds and two mattresses on the floor) after previously making reservations for two rooms for two people each. Since the Ghion had "lost" our reservations (which I don't believe since they later "found" mine) they also didn't provide a shuttle from the airport. A totally dissatisfying experience on all levels.

I have been staying at the Ghion Hotel when in Addis for the past three years,3+ times/year. It was great to see the improvements being made on this visit. The food was also much better at the non-traditional restaurants. The traditional food restaurant and food has always been good and reasonable.

This hotel has a fabulous location. I know it from old and it is disappointing to visit and not have water in the room and especially hot water - there is a randomness to water. The hotel feels "tired" and even the once lovely gardens are lacking colour and care The staff in the bar and restaurant are most helpful and pleasant, reception less so. Sadly after knowing this hotel and using it for more than 20 years, I fell I cannot stay again. No car arrived at the airport to collect me despite this being on offer.

I paid for room through Expedia, When I arrived they told me theyd not received payment. I had to pay again when I was there. First room I was put in had no hot water.
