'We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Gerald's and really liked the surrounding gardens and its tranquility. Lovely and clean room and hard to imagine it once had a different purpose (the cottage front door is revealing), quite, personal parking space and just 10 minutes to Addo Elephant park. Great breakfast too and a citrus plantation to get lost in. You will definitely see all the game through very clean windows but you we suggest you experience it yourself. Recommended for sure.'

'Smallish lodge with informative game drives. Staff really nice a friendly. Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Nice to have a couple of Hippo's hanging out the front. Food good without being over the top. Given the weather, didnt get to make much use of the outdoor area, but would be nice in summer. My only gripe is when I neede to cancel and rebook, it took almost 2 months and the commencement of credit card chargeback to get my refund (which was not disputed). '

'Very beautiful historic property with great views & location. On negative side -large airy village units only have warmish water not hot - village units outdoor showers had waist high weeds - supper menus are 5 course set menus that are repeated & are expensive for quality - restaurant staff lacking management & training - receptionists could do hostessing/oversight at meal times & spot checks on housekeeping/condition of units and gardens to support and train staff but do not - lack of comfy...

'De vriendelijkheid van de mensen was perfect, zo ook het ontbijt. Wat iets minder was is het buiten terras. De bewoners van de aansluitende kamer waren rokers en rookte voor onze deur en open ramen. Toch niet echt lekker. '

'We had a fantastic 3 days at Addo River-View Lodge. Our hostess, Leanne, was fabulous and very helpful and informative. The proximity of the location to Addo Elephant Park was ideal and we booked a guided full day tour there. We also enjoyed a sunset boat trip on the Sundays River and climbed the sand dunes. The local restaurant, Taste of Africa, was excellent and less than a 3 minute walk. Highly recommended.'

'Die Bilder der Unterkunft vermitteln mir eine gehobene Mittelkasse, was ich persönlich nicht so empfand. Die Couch im Wohnzimmer ist durchgesessen und weißt starke Gebrauchsspuren auf, welche durch eine Decke verdeckt werden. Ca 100m neben an befindet sich eine Tankstelle, ein SPAR und ein Parkplatz, welcher rege von großen Trucks genutzt wird, Obwohl das Appartment zur Fluß Seite liegt, empfand ich entspanntes relaxen auf dem großzügigen Balkon etwas schwierig. 'Die Mitarbeiter im Restaurant waren freundlich und bemüht. Keine Zimmerreinigung. Nur ein Handtuch für zwei Personen. Pool sehr dreckig, somit nicht benutzbar. Besitzer und Manager uninteressiert und und unfreundlich. Preis/Leistung schlecht -> Unterkunft an sich in Ordnung aber zu teuer. Würden hier nicht wieder hin gehen.'
