Comfortable weekend
We, my sister in law, and me went for 4 days to Salgados Palace, Albufeira Portugal. It was a very relaxed and comfortable weekend. The staff was so kind and very helpfull. Stayed for most of the time at the pool , one day we did go to the beach with the Hotel Train. Loved it!! It was an all-inclusive hotel, so we could eat and drink as much as we wanted ;-) A good variety of food and drinks, but now and then the food was not very warm. Not a big problem, but something to look at. The rooms were very nice and clean. Love to go back again!

Secluded Hotel - not worthy of 5* though!
The location of the hotel is not very central or close to anything, so unless your planning on doing absoloutely nothing you have to bear this in mind when booking, luckily we had read up on this and booked a rental car for a few days. The complex itself is huge perhaps too huge which didnt make sense as you had huge empty spaces (hallways/lobbies on each floor) yet the gym was so small and disappointing especially when you have to pay 10e a day!! The pool was very very cold which was unfortunate as hardly anybody used it because of this. The temperature should and needs to be brought down. Bedroom was cleaned and tidied everyday however the bed sheets were not changed once during our 7 day stay there which in my opinion for a 5* hotel is unacceptable!

mooi compleet hotel en vlakbij het strand 15 min
wat ik minder vond was het geschuif elke avond en morgen van stoelen onder onze hotelkamer. Wij hadden hotelkamer 265. Deze kamer zit precies boven het restaurant waar het ontbijt en diner wordt elke dag wordt gedaan.

Dit hotel is vrij nieuw en heeft veel faciliteiten; de kamers, met balcon, zijn net, ruim en praktisch ingedeeld. Het ontbijt is goed en gevarieerd. Het diner buffet is matig, maar het à la carte restaurant uitstekend. Het lunch restaurant in de nabijheid van de zwembaden is matig, de prijs/prestatieverhouding is niet goed en het personeel is niet attent. Het hotel maakt deel uit van een groter complex met appartementencomplexen, een golfbaan, en diverse restaurants. Het strand bevindt zich op loopafstand.

Super leuk en super goed, schoon en nieuw hotel.
We hebben een super verblijf gehad in het hotel! Goed en aardig personeel, mooie zwembaden, super mooie hotelkamers en een uitgebreid ontbijt. We miste alleen een goede bar waar we s'avonds nog lekker een drankje konden doen. Er is een mooie lobby maar heeft niet de gezelligheid van een Nederlandse kroeg.

Great hotel nice and helpful staff. Nice surrounding but you will need a car. Car rental is advised. It's too far from albufeira city to walk. We rented a car and that was perfect. Plenty of space in the garage. The walk to the beach is nice.

Goed hotel met een paar minpunten
Ruim een week het hotel gebruikt als uitvalsbasis om de Algarve te ontdekken. Helaas wat weinig parkeerruimte voor het aantal kamers. Hele grote (lege) lobby, energiebesparende verlichting (die soms wat eigenwijs is). Tijdens ons verblijf (nazomer) was het er erg rustig, personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer was niet bijzonder ruim maar voldeed wel. Het openzetten van de balkondeur wordt afgestraft met oorverdovende herrie van de airco's, beetje jammer. De vloer van de kamer was plakkerig. Deze is gedweild maar was daarna nog steeds plakkerig. Hotel lijkt me niet echt geschikt voor gezinnen met (jonge)kinderen. Al met al wel een overwegend positieve ervaring.

This hotel is far from 5*, the ‘all inclusive’ food options were substandard. Around 3-4 choices in a restaurant that had 0 atmosphere and felt more like a canteen. After the 2nd night of struggling to make a meal with the options available and having to find food elsewhere (which defeats the object of paying for 5* All Inclusive) we complained to the manager who provided us with a wrist band to the neighbouring and sister hotel Palm Village whose food options and dining facilities were some what better, however nowhere near 5* standard. The hotel is also full of children who are under your feet when trying to plate up food. We had come on holiday for a relaxing couple get away, however it felt like we had checked into Butlins. the entertainment is also embarrassing. I have seen better from drunks on Karaoke in the local pub. Please don’t waste your money and stay here. We have stayed in 4* hotels what would run rings around this place. We won’t be returning.

Huge hotel with four pools. Large room and shower room. Not much natural light so seemed rather dark in places. The food was varied and plentiful. We were all inclusive, there were even afternoon snacks and midnight snacks. My only negatives were that without a car you couldn’t walk to anywhere, it was out of the way. Which should suggest it was quiet but it so was not. Loud music around the pool and kids in abundance! The evening entertainment was ok, mostly singers but got monotonous after a while and again kids up and running around the whole night. So great for families but not so great if you want to chill out on holiday.

Not so much a palace...
I was really impressed with the size of the rooms we had, not sure if we were upgraded? But the room was huge with a separate living area in which the children’s camp beds were placed. It had two toilets and two shower rooms which was fab. Cleaners did a wonderful job and put the children’s teddies in their pillows which was such a nice touch. Buffet food - was poor in my opinion. Very much the same thing every day, pasta, pizza, chips and not enough variety. Wine served on the all inclusive was very good though. Normally when it’s all inclusive it tastes like vinegar, but this was a very nice Portuguese wine. They also serve other branded alcohol and nice Portuguese beers. The only problem being, whenever we went to get a drink at the bar in the evening or at the pool bar, you had to wait a minimum of 20 mins (day time) and up to half an hour in the evening, as they only ever had one person serving at the bar at a time. Note on the pools - kids pool was fab with the pirate ship in it, which my kids loved. But the tile floor in the pool was rough and sharp and both my children cut/grazed their knees in it. Also all of the pools were really murky looking which we only noticed on the second day. We stayed here for x3 nights after staying at Vidamar resort for x7 days and you could definitely notice the drop in quality/service. Overall very disappointed with the stay and wish we had stayed on at Vidamar

O hotel não é um hotel 5 estrelas. Serviço muito fraco denotando forte recurso a trabalhadores temporários com muito pouca formação. Buffet caótico sem ninguém para nos encaminhar a uma mesa. Reposição muito demorada. Não existe uma piscina para adultos onde se possa descansar confortavelmente, nem sequer no SPA. Hotel tipicamente para famílias com crianças. Não existe ninguém que assegure o cumprimento das diretrizes do hotel: p. ex. proibido reserva de espreguiçadeiras, andar de patins no hall de entrada, etc. No quarto apenas existem 2 garrafas de água de 0,25 cl cada. Ninguém para nos encaminhar ao quarto nem tão pouco para ajudar com o transporte de bagagem. Enfim um hotel 4 estrelas.

The main problem was internet connection (WiFi). Sometimes it didn't work, more often it would work but barely have 1Mbps so couldn't even watch YouTube or download a bigger attachment from email. The food in the buffet(s) was good, with voucher entry to the other 2 restaurants available: - The upstairs restaurant was very nice too (1 voucher per every 5 or 7 days stay) - wish we could have gone more often - The one by the pool (1 voucher per every 3 days stay) was always the same food but good. Wish there was more variety The hotel was very isolated, so if you want to go out at night and walk to a high street then forget it. The entertainment in the hotel was ok. The games room could be so much better though! Walking around the hotel was very nice and relaxing, so it may be what you are looking for. Another strange one was the access to the Spa. We had a voucher (1 voucher per 5 or 7 days stay) but couldn't use unless we purchased equipment like hair protective cap. What's the point of providing a voucher if we then have to purchase stuff to use the amenities? It looked nice but mostly empty. The outside pools were nice, they were warmed too in colder days, which is excellent! They could benefit from more shades, though. There weren't enough for all the chairs and some of them were broken on top of it... I think there's no excuse, there were too many broken shades which gives the impression of abandonment, not what you expect from a 5 star Hotel. Excellent rooms and staff.

The hotels rooms are of a good size and the showers are huge compared to other hotels I’ve been to. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of variety. The hotel was lovely enough to surprise me with cake and champagne on my birthday. The thing I liked most about the hotel was the fact that it was away from all the hype and partying of Albufeira, it was a very peace and pleasant weekend for myself and my girlfriend.

Excelente localização com proximidade da praia, área do hotel e envolvente muito boa muitas palmeiras, contudo o hotel não tem serviço de 5 estrelas mas cobra o valor. Quarto não foi totalmente limpo.

Funcionários muito simpáticos. Comida muito bom. Quartos para famílias de 4 pessoas um pouco pequeno.

Camping 5*
Assez déçu pour un hôtel 5* qui ressemble a un club ou voir même un camping 5* Tout le monde dans les piscines avec leur bouée perso, du bruits en permanence en journée et aussi le soir dans les couloirs des chambres jusqu'à très tard dans la nuit, le restaurant principal ressemble a une grosse cantine de qualité moyenne ou personne ne respecte rien (bruit, tenue vestimentaire inapproprié,... ) Voila un petit résumé en quelques mots qui confirme que nous y retournerons pas. Je vous conseille d'aller Salgados dunas suite du même groupe et très proche de celui ci mais bien mieux en qualité. Bonnes vacances

Nice hotel under 10 minute walk to the beach.
Very child friendly hotel childrens entertainment all day lots of different activities.

Relaxante mesmo com o hotel lotado
Foi uma estadia curta de 3 noites, que souberam a pouco. O hotel é bastante acolhedor, a área envolvente está cuidada e transmite tranquilidade. A proximidade com o Salgados Village permite que se usufrua de alguns serviços também desse hotel. A ida para a praia (vila galé oeste) de comboio faz a alegria das crianças e é um percurso curto de 10 minutos. A pé também se pode ir à praia dos salgados, em 15 minutos,

Hotel com tudo incluido. Refeições bem confeccionadas com opções para bebé e crianças (excepto papas). Boa diversidade de bebidas. 4 piscinas maravilhosas. Monitores no kids club dedicados. Atividades no exterior para crianças e adultos. Quartos cómodos.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff
First impressions - very nice, modern and clean hotel. Atrium is very big with a nice bar and lounge area. Staff very approachable and friendly. Room - very clean and sufficient for our needs. Pool - four nice sized pools for all types of guest. Food - not bad for an all inclusive. Its never going to be great but can complain really. Drinks - good selection of drinks Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic. Staff - really friendly and helpful. Entertainment - lots of choices for everyone Negatives - Beds aren't that comfortable but that comes down to preference. Hotel is obviously understaffed e.g. lines of people waiting to get drinks every night. Things in rooms starting to fall apart and need slight refurb to bring up to standard e.g. sink waste pop-up broken Overall happy with stay but improvements could be made. Would be happy to stay again but maybe not for the price
