Our room was clean, however, the elevator was filthy. It smelled and cigarette butts were everywhere. Just needs daily cleaning. The people were friendly.

The condition of the rooms are old, dirty and with cockroaches. The elevator was never in working conditions. I attempted to leave the minute we arrived; however, since I booked through Expedia. I had to ask for permission to do so. I was granted permission to leave, but I had just paid for the parking. Our room didn't have any towels and not all the lights were working properly. If this hotel (motel like) is so frequented, I would think it would be wise to invest in the maintenance and upgrades. All staff were personable; except one lady that very rudely told us that she wasn't helping anyone other than the person in front of her. If maintenance is kept up we would reconsider staying.

Arrived early and the person at the front desk was nice and polite. I was able to check in early. However, the second night I noticed a small bug walking on the night stand, I figured okay it’s okay one. The next night i saw one on the pillow. I had to give the bed a quick shake down and make sure there wasn’t more. The place is not had for the location it is in but theres a few things that can be fixed to make this stay better.

Outside is really run down but the room was clean. Only needed it for a few hours so it wasn’t bad for a quick in and out trip. I wouldn’t stay longer. The rooms and entire property are definitely dated and had a weird smell. Staff was nice and accommodating. For the location, good bang for your buck.

This is an old establishment but I think my room was maintained really well. Walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The staff was so friendly! The only con was that the elevator wasn’t working when I was there. Keep in mind that people are likely going to be there to enjoy the austin night life but I didn’t mind the noise. I felt safer to know it was a busy hotel.

I seldom leave negative feedback. I’m sorry to have to say something. The locks on the doors were nonfunctional. Roaches in the room. Vomit in the stairwell. The room was dirty. The staff was nice enough. I’m really disappointed in my stay. I’d recommend gutting the entire hotel and remodeling. This hotel has great potential, just needs a lot of work.

To receive this request for feedback is an added insult. We contacted Expedia after leaving this property early - we stayed one night of a three night stay - due to all the issues we previously highlighted i.e. filthy conditions, broken elevators, unsafe situation with homeless people using the stairwells as sleeping areas and toilets. I honestly cannot state strongly enough just how bad this place is. I expect Expedia to withdraw from offering this hotel immediately to protect its own reputation.

This is by far the worst hotel I lived in the USA. The stairs are odorous, the elevators don’t work often, staffs are not helpful, 36.00 parking for a day and the parking is also dirty and smelly, the key cards often don’t work and need to be changed multiple times, the bathroom doors can’t be locked from either inside or outside, the toilet flush is very weak, there was no trash bin in the bathroom, the breakfast is stale, the entire area is dilapidated, and yet the price is quite high. Not recommended at all, particularly if you are with your family. Never going to stay there again.

Stayed 5 nights and they never changed my bedding. At one point they simply left additional towels without removing the others. I came home at 5:30 after a day in the office to find my room door open and unattended. Towels and linens everywhere throughout the facility just left on the ground in the hallways. Elevators malfunctioned and jammed enough times to just not feel safe, took the stairs instead. I jokingly referred to this property with colleagues as the Greyhound Station Hotel, but on further reflection think that’s more of a dig on Greyhound than it deserves. While housekeeping needs to get its act together, I would note that the front desk staff was friendly as could be. But even after requesting my room be turned over, it remained untouched when I returned after work on the 5th day of my stay. I never leave reviews, but my stay at La Quinta Downtown Austin Capitol left an impression I will never forget.

I always thought La Quinta‘s were of higher quality than this location. The outside and walkways were very dirty and did not smell good. The room had roaches and was very dirty. No one had cleaned the bathroom at all. Was concerned about bedbugs as well. We accidentally lost our key card and it was two in the morning and there was no one to reach at that time over the phone or at the front desk. Which thankfully we ended up finding our card and were able to get into our room. We were very disappointed to say the least.

Upon check-in, I was required to sign a paper stating that I would not use drugs in my room or on the property, would not host parties, or cause damage to the room/property. The building and grounds are not well maintained and in disrepair. The outside hallways are not secured, allowing easy access to the rooms. The room smelled as though drugs had been used recently, the curtains were shreded, boths beds had huge dents in the mattreses, and the room had multiple repairs to walls, doors, etc., as well as some unrepaired damage. I did not feel safe staying there and checked out shortly after arriving. I was shocked by the unsafe conditions both because it is a Wyndam property and that it is listed on Expedia.

Easy to park for free around , 10min walking. Very nice location. Walking distance for everything. Pool is ok. Management very nice except the lady from the breakfast, it was 10am, room full, but she came and switched off the light, did not remove the food and left. Not nice for us, finishing our breakfast. Hotel very dirty. Stains on the carpet , stains in the bath. Cockroaches everywhere is the bedroom and bathroom. Big one and small one. We asked to change room ( even if I guess all the building was the same ), but it was full so we couldn't change the bedroom. Weird small on the room. Mold on bathroom and windows.

The physical conditions of the hotel aren't the best, it needs a lot of cleaning, paint, general maintenance. The hotel has a perfect location, it is a hotel with a lot of potential. I can go walking everywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful, i know they do the best the can do, but definitelly the hotel needs a lot of maintenance.

Overpriced, >$300 /night, but with no amenities. Probably worth $50/night like a cheap hostel. Trash not emptied for 4 days, no housekeeping. You have to come down to the front desk to ask for a creamer, or to get water. Property has peeling paint. Narrow hallways, poor lighting.

Property was dirty and falling apart. There was a dirty toilet plunger left out near our door. The only parking available was valet and it cost $45 per night. They would only take cash so I had to go find an ATM to pay for parking. Went to dinner and came back and there were no parking spots left and the valet guy was not at his post. Asked the front desk for help and they called the valet guy and then he had the nerve to request that I tip him for the inconvenience of calling him. Keep in mind that you park your own car. The valet takes your money and does nothing else. I have nothing good to say about this hotel other than it’s location in downtown is very convenient.

The room was dirty and a few roaches crawled into the bed and tv stand, there was clothing tag sticker on the wall assuming that was from the previous person that stayed there, and the bathroom was not scrubbed! The curtains were old and had holes and torn. The window moldings were old. The parking garage was dirty and smelled like piss. I did not feel safe at all. This is not a kid friendly place. Dont do it!

As soon as we walked in it smelled of mildew/cat pee. The curtains in the room were ripped in multiple places, I found a lot of hair, a used make up wipe AND an artificial finger nail on the bathroom floor. The spackle job on the bathroom door looked like it was done by a 4 year old. This property is NOT well maintained and for the 300 dollars a night we paid because everyone was price-gouging for the solar eclipse, I'd have rather paid double that to stay anywhere but here.

Arrived for 3pm check in and my room with king bed was not ready. Was told it would be 30 minutes. 1hr later and still not ready so got "upgrade" to 2 queen room which was fine but bathroom was disgusting. Toilet clogged after 1 use and light didnt work. Noisy all night with loud people and different cars blasting music at until 3am all i could imagine was drug deals. Honestly never knew Austin had a hood until this hotel stay. Expedia should not recommend this place to their vslued members.

We were stunned at how pitiful and dirty our room was. There was one bar of soap for our 3-day stay and a used bar right behind the shower curtain with all the mold spots on it. Wall paint was peeling. The drawers in the dresser were so filled with dirt and hair we couldn't put our clothes in there. When we called the friendly and efficient front desk staff (seriously - she was very nice) she let us know that the cleaning staff leave every day at 4 and no one could help us. She could let us change rooms, but there was no guarantees the next room would be clean. We were left with 1/4 roll of toilet paper and no additional roles. The passageways were nasty concrete stained from past spills (or ??) and very dirty. It really was horribly maintained and I will be hesitant to stay at a La Quinta Inn in the future.

Rooms were in disrepair. Window did not lock in one and two inches of water in the bathtub in another. Third room was clean. I was approached by a vagrant when I was unlocking the breakfast facility... no security on premise. The front desk was empty and I had to wait for someone every time I was in the lobby.

This place is horrible Arrived at 11pm and still had to wait 45 minutes for a room to be cleaned before I could check in.

Fue una muy mala experiencia Los empleados NO ESTÁN CAPACITADOS para atender a los clientes. No cumple las expectativas, y la gente no es amable. Uno de los que iban con nosotros tuvo que dormir en el piso porque las instalaciones no estaban preparadas para recibirnos. Pésimo servicio

The room stinks badly. They are not equipped to receive pets. They will put you in a filthy room with carpets instead of use the ground rooms so you can walk your dog and prevent any inconvenience. We hated it. Awful.
