We were 2 couples on our first visit to Sao Miguel and the proximity to the airport and city gave us the perfect "home base" while traveling the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. 'We had a very nice short stay, 4 nights, at Antonio's. The garden was so very beautiful and the sunroom such a pleasant place to sit. It was hard to get away during the day to see something of the island. But still we did visit the island. Also very beautiful. From the house you have easy acces to all places, capital city 10 minutes dive, beach 20 minutes drive. My son went surfing on the highest waves he had seen. While Ponta Delgada has more of an urban feel - we wanted something just a little off the beaten path but still easy access to amenities.
