'WONDERFUL rustic cabin in a rural area of Texas Hill country. We stayed in the “German Chocolate” cabin for 4 nights during the solar eclipse and throughly enjoyed our stay. Easy 2 mile drive to Fredericksburg. Lovely baked goods waiting for us on our arrival, plus Sophie’s Bakery is right down the road where additional goodies are available! 'I booked our stay at Monarc Ranch for the April 8 eclipse, when we had a problem with our previous booking. We stayed for 2 nights for a family of 4 (including our 5 and 3 year old boys). 'The bed was terrible. You couldn’t make a move without noises and it was so uncomfortable. We were locked out of the gate, and had to be told we have to walk around to another one. The bathroom sick is clogged and takes forever to drain The lights in the bathroom don’t work at all. We were harnessed about signing a release for damages we didn’t know we needed to sign before we arrived. (I’ve never had to sign a release form renting thru Travelocity)'
