Fabulous overwater stay
We loved everything about our stay, booking, communication and location. Our recommendation would be to add a blender. Wr would have brought one had the description not said there was one in the bungalow. Overall, hardly worth mentioning but if you plan on morning smoothies bring a blender. Wonderful placento celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! Thanks Richard and Tiera you both were amazing to work with.

An amazing place!
What a spectacular bungalow. The hosts Nir and Tiare were so great and very accommodating, even picking us up from the port and allowing us to rent their vehicle (which is a must). The location was perfect and the bungalow exceeded our expectations. Getting used to the business hours in town and restaurants were a little tricky but overall everlasting memories were made and would not hesitate to return to Bora Bora and stay here again.

Amazing overwater bungalow
Truly amazing location and only one of five overwater bungalows on the main island of Bora Bora. The booking process was great with Richard and when we arrived, Nir and Tiare were available for any questions and help we needed. Stepping off the private deck into the water never got old and we had fun snorkeling around the area. The area was very quiet and peaceful, but there were a few roosters within earshot so be prepared with earplugs if that wakes you up. The kitchen had all the essentials you'd need to prepare meals which was perfect for us. We can't wait to return!

Exactly what I was looking for
This was just what I was looking for, a place away from crowds but not isolated. It's clean and simple, not a lot of frills but has all the necessities. My stay was very enjoyable. Hope to come back someday and would definitely look to stay here again too.

What a beautiful place! We ended our honeymoon here and utterly loved the bungalow. The water and deck were perfect at every time of day. The Brando effect made it a bit more special. Highly recommend.

I spent a week in Bungalow one with two of my best friends and we absolutely loved it and were so sad to leave! The bungalow itself is clean, spacious, and well-equipped and its location offers privacy and freedom that you don't or won't necessarily get at the much more expensive resorts. We spent many hours snorkeling in the "backyard" ocean and saw a variety of fish, sea cucumbers, and even a few rays. We also spent many hours in the back patio listening to music, playing cards, reading, eating, and watching the boats go by and the sunset! When we did want or need to venture away from the bungalow, being able to easily and cheaply rent a car from Nir allowed us the feeedom to shop for groceries, go to restaurants, and explore the island. I highly recommend renting this bungalow if you want to have more space and freedom and spend significatly less than you would for an overwater bungalow at any of the local resorts!

A very relaxing stay at this property. Management was very friendly and helpful with any questions and help with excursions. We loved the view and relaxing on the over the water porch. Bedrooms were large enough to be comfortable. You do need a car to get to dining and the public park, but the manager or town has rentals. Great affordable option to large resorts with more time to explore the island and local culture.

The bungalows are clean, comfortable and well-appointed with a big shower, nice beds, kitchen appliances and a washer. The wood floors are beautiful. The magic is in the location. Here, one is away from all the tourist mayhem. The lagoon is at your doorstep, full of wonder and life. The water is warm and so clear. This place is the ultimate luxury stay for someone who wants to recharge and reconnect under the stars with life and their loved one(s). We keep returning to find our souls again.

Great place to stay/be
We had a fantastic stay at Bungalow #1. What a wonderful experience to be able to wake up in the morning, walk out on the front porch, and see all the fish, eagle rays, and beautiful blue water Bora Bora has to offer. Property was well kept and had the essentials needed for preparing meals there. We felt very secure at the property and didn't have any concerns about safety. The swim platform was outstanding as we did a lot of snorkeling around the area. The property manager Nir, was a super nice guy, and very helpful and insightful picked us up promptly from the ferry and returned us promptly to the ferry when it was time to leave! You will want a car if staying here as its about halfway to Vaitape either direction you go around the island, but doesn't take long by car and it's a beautiful drive.

Great Island Experience
We had an incredible experience at the Bungalow. Being able to live in a place where we could be directly on the water, not be dependent on a restaurant for our meals was an absolute pleasure. It gave us an opportunity to really get to know the island in a less touristy way, and interact with local people while also enjoying everything Bora Bora had to offer. Would highly recommend!!!!

Better than we could have hoped for
Wow! What a true gem. The bungalow is on a quiet part of the island that has little traffic and spectacular sunsets. My wife and I enjoyed listening to the sounds of Bora Bora as we went to sleep at night. The lapping water was soothing and each morning at sunrise, we would see rowers silently gliding past our bungalow and the most beautiful fish coming to greet the day. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cook. However, we found ourselves enjoying the local restaurants more than we had planned and only cooked a couple meals during our 8 days. Everything is so convenient and just a short drive away. Richard reached out to us immediately after booking and provided contact information for his manager, Nir. Nir was amazing from our first email contact and throughout the trip. He met us at the airport with a car for rent during our stay and was available for any questions during our stay. We bought a day pass and enjoyed the beach and a meal at one of the resorts on the motu. This definitely affirmed that we made the right decision to stay in the VRBO. The resort bungalows there were so close to each other, with little privacy. They were set so high above the water making access and views nowhere near as amazing as what we experienced in our bungalow. Staying on the main island allowed us easy access to shops, groceries, and restaurants. Whenever any of the locals found out we were staying in the Brando bungalow, they had positive things to say about the location and the history. It was great to know that we were staying somewhere that people were proud to have as part of their community! I highly recommend staying in this bungalow and soaking up the privacy, the connection to the community, and the views that can't be found in the resorts!

We Enjoyed Our Bora Bora Over Water Bungalow!
This was our first trip to French Polynesia and we loved our time in Bora Bora. We avoided the resorts and booked with VRBO for a bungalow that was a fraction of the price of the resorts. The bungalow came with a rental car that enabled us to travel around the island. The car worked flawlessly and was a great addition to the trip. Our bungalow worked great for our needs as we were able to shop at the local grocery store and roadside fruit stands for meals. We ate at the bungalow and enjoyed home cooked dinners each night. This set up allowed us to avoid costly restaurants and save on our budget. We were provided with a kayak, life vests and other water accessories. We enjoyed snorkeling right off our back deck and found the morning and evening as especially good times to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. We would recommend this place to anyone interested in enjoying the island life of Bora Bora without the costs of the resorts in Bora Bora.

Great Bora Bora Experience
We had a great stay at the Marlon Brando Bungalow. We recommend renting a car from Avis which is right near the arrival dock for the ferry from the airport. Great over water bungalow experience for significantly less than the resorts on Bora Bora. Check in was easy. The manager met us at the ferry with the key and instructions to get to the bungalow. Interior was well maintained and we appreciated the a/c and washing machine. We’d definitely come back!

Relaxation in PARADISE
We travelled with our 16-month old (who doesn't yet walk) and it was heavenly staying at the bungalow. So relaxing and beautiful. The perfect getaway for our little family. The car rental through Nir was seamless and essential. We loved driving into town on pretty much a daily basis to go to the supermarket for fresh baguettes, or to grab lunch/dinner from a food truck. Everything is easily accessible from the bungalow. Note: for the restaurants, it's better to call for reservations. We were able to get seated, but they were alarmed at our lack of reservations. The bungalow is as described, maybe a bit rustic for some (but then you should be staying at a resort), but for us it was perfect. We were able to do laundry, relax and eat meals on the overwater deck, enjoy the sunsets, come and go as we wished. We fed the fish leftover baguettes each morning; cooled off in the water in the afternoons. Idyllic. Everything you need, including a smart tv for streaming if you need a little mindless entertainment in the middle of paradise (we did). We'll be back! And we're telling all of our friends about the bungalow!

Excellent Stay in the Bungalow
As everything on this island, the property and its location are beautiful. It’s very quiet here because it’s away from the main tourist parts. The bungalow is very spacious. You can swim right from the balcony… it’s wonderful. Lots of fish to see right there; under water or just standing on the balcony. During the island’s winter months (we were here in September), you can expect a steady wind of 15-20mph day and night. But you get used to it and it doesn’t really interfere with any activities. It’s just part of life here. Depending on the part of the island, you may even have a pretty protected beach with less wind. I would come to this island and this Bungalow again, no doubt. I would recommend this to anyone. Oh! Our manager Nir provided the best check in experience. He’s so nice and you can reach him any day with the local cell phone he provides you during your stay. He will book guided tours for you and give you recommendations about where to go for food.

This is a must stay in Bora Bora
If you want an affordable over the water bungalow in Bora Bora, THIS is the place to stay! You will enjoy the accomodations of the home and the fantastic view of sea life right from your deck. Be sure to rent the car from Nir as you will need it to get to the store, bank, and around the island. We brought fishing poles for "catch and release" fishing and floaties to float on the water. We also brought our own snorkeling gear as there is much to see from the dock. If you need anything or want to book an excursion, ask Nir first. It was fantastic to be picked up from our dock for water excursions or out on the road for our land excursions. Our family of four had a fabulous time and it was very hard to leave to go back to the fast paced life in California!

Secluded paradise
An incredible, private property with an amazing sunset view and wonderful wildlife in the lagoon. Despite the lockdown, Nir - the property manager - was so helpful, providing us with a car and a phone which were lifesavers in letting us see the island and enjoy take aways. Perfect for a 20th Anniversary
Imagine waking up to water crashing under your bungelow every morning ( so soothing) feeding the fish with your love over coffee! Watching the sunset everyday bowing. The bungalow was the perfect spot for us. It is located in a quiet area of Vaitape. Nir was extremely helpful with dinner reservations, and suggestions on various tours. Renting the car from Nir was ideal. We spent many evenings sitting on the porch watching the beautiful sunsets. Would recommend staying here in a heartbeat.

Authentic paradise
We really enjoyed our stay at the bungalow. It felt like authentic Bora Bora. It was so lovely to watch all the boat traffic cruising by, hear the lull of the waves, and see the magnificent sunsets. Definitely take the kayak out for a paddle or two- it’s a very special experience. Nir and Tiare were responsive and welcoming and Richard was great in answering all my questions. We loved that they gave us a local cell phone to use and everyone on the island seemed to know them! It was really fun to rent “Mutiny on the Bounty” and know that Mr. Brando once enjoyed this beautiful place. Well equipped with lots of kitchen stuff. We didn’t cook much but we did make breakfast and cocktails :-). It’s a little far from town and you do need a car- make sure to rent from Nir as his rates are far better! Mauruuru for a wonderful stay.

Perfect Stay in Paradise
Wonderful stay in paradise in a unique overwater property. It was great to stay on the main island and truly experience Bora Bora. You can see why Marlon Brando feel in love with this spot and built a bungalow here. Spacious and in true Polynesian style. Also on the end and quite private. Spent hours on the large poach and deck watching all the fish and spectacular sunsets. Appreciated all the support from Richard and Nir regarding logistics. Left a few days ago and missing it already.

Excelent place to stay
We had a group of 8 plus 1 infant and we rented 3 of the overwater bungalows. Bora Bora was absolutely beautiful and staying in this bungalows made it even better. We kayaked in the mornings to watch the sun rises. We were able to swim right out of our patio. Tiare helped to arrange a private chef for us for one night. It was magical. The chef and her assistant were excellent. If you have a chance to use them, don’t hesitate. They gave us a phone so we could communicate on the island and Tiare and Nir helped us with every question and all of our needs. We rented a car from Nir for a lot less than it costs in the rental places. The properties are all absolutely beautiful. I would stay again when I return I wish I could give it 10 stars.

The location is stunning with post card views all around. We were a party of 4 and it would perfectly for us and the air conditioning was good to come back to each day! We actually only expected it in the bedrooms but it was in the entire unit. The location is only a 10 - 15 min drive to the harbor and you can circle the island in an hour …… if you don't stop to take pictures every 10 feet. The unit does need a bit of TLC - some light blankets in the second bedroom, a few more pillows. In the kitchen dishes and glassware need replacement. IMPORTANT: With the wonderful private nature of this unit there is really no security. We made the mistake of being lax and not locking the sliding doors that face the lagoon at night. During the night while sleeping a thief came in from the lagoon and took a bag from the main room that had a passport and cash. Police advised that this happens. This unit does have a camera facing the back dock - however it's a "dummy" and does not work. The good news is the bag was thrown in the lagoon (minus cash) and it floated to shore with a soggy passport floating next to it……. Oh well, live and learn we will be much more careful in the future.

Dear Jeff, I am so sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately it is necessary to lock your doors at night. After 15 years, this is the first break-in we have had. There is also a safe in the bungalow where valuables should be kept. I will take your suggestions under advisement, we are constantly replacing dish ware as many clients don't report breakage. All in all, it sounds like you had a great time.

My family of four stayed for a week in Brando's Over Water Bungalow. The property is exactly as described. It is well suited for a family with 2 bedrooms, nice bathroom with double vanities and an amazing shower, well equipped kitchen, and spacious living room. The availability of a grill and outdoor dining area allowed us to cook many delicious meals while enjoying the sunset. We also enjoyed watching the outrigger canoes passing by. There is easy access to the water from a ladder on the dock so we enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking in front of the bungalow. My teenagers appreciated access to high-speed Wifi and watching Netflix on the large TV after sunset. The bungalow is in a convenient location- close to shopping and to Matira Beach. Our favorite activity was the lagoon tour and we were even picked up at the bungalow! The lagoon tour is definitely a must-do activity. Snorkeling with the black tip reef sharks and the beautiful fish at Coral Gardens is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We decided to rent a car from Nir which was useful for trips to the market and circling the island. I can't compliment Richard and Nir enough for making our vacation amazing! They were the perfect hosts- helpful and responsive. They provided a clean, well-equipped, attractively decorated home away from home. I would definitely recommend the bungalow to others and would stay there again if we're ever lucky enough to return to Bora Bora.

Excellent stay
Great place to stay in Bora Bora. The owner is very helpful with info about checking in, as well as tips during your stay. The local manager is a very affable and knowledgeable man that can help coordinate tours and services for you during your stay. Don't do what we did and wait until the last minute however! That said we had an amazing trip and would do it again, exactly as we did. The bungalow itself is ideal if you aren't looking for resort living. To us, it was better, as we had more freedom, privacy, and our own little slice of Bora Bora. It is also great to be able to cook your own meals and store food in the fridge and freezer (some bungalows have this in resorts, some don't). Kitchen was well stocked with the necessary implements, by the way, and the gas grill worked well. Internet, TV, Netflix, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. It was also great to have a tandem kayak handy, which we did use to paddle across to the islands near the edge of the reef. Amazing and recommended! Would do it again for sure.
