Cabin in the Woods
Loved all the unique details, comfortable layout, and beautiful views. The sunset was best viewed from the top deck, but we loved the view from the swing in the living room too. The king bed was super comfy! The garden tub with ocean view was a treat. Enjoyed the proximity to beautiful beaches. We are seniors... 72 and 75. We both loved our stay.

The place was hard to find up a steep bumpy gravel single lane road. When we arrived we could not get TV to work. When I called about this I was told to rent dvds. No cable TV so we put a puzzle together. The upstairs had bunk beds and all beds in one room. A live bat swarmed our bed at night so opened door to get it out. I would never rent this home again paid over $900 for 2 nights.

We are sorry to hear your time at this Cabin was not as you had expected. The description and photos to this home are very accurate. There is NOT cable at this property as written in the description for this listing- Only Internet. This review is the first we have ever heard of any bats in this home. We hope your next booking here in Brookings better suits your lifestyle. This is a Cabin in the Woods. It is up a gravel road in the woods with wildlife. When writing the descriptions, neighborhood description and location of this home- we try to be as clear as we can with writting. This is a stunning 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom 2 story custom cabin in the woods. The owner comes here to escape- there is a flat screen TV in both living room and upstairs bedroom with DVD access. There is internet access so people are more than welcome to stream or bring their own persoanl roku or fire sticks if TV is there main sorce of entertainment while in Brookings. Again we are pleased the home was otherwise enjoyed and well stocked for your stay. We are sorry that the description for this home was misconstrued in any way.

Great cozy spot for family getaway
Cabin was super cozy with a beautiful view. Far enough away to feel like you are in the forest, but super close to town and hikes and beaches and even the redwoods in California. Only complaint is I emailed property manager twice - once to confirm they received the rental notice I signed and another to ask for advice on local hikes, and no response was ever received. Likely due to the fact that it is a property management company running it as opposed to a homeowner.

Secluded getaway
If you love privacy and gorgeous views, this is the place for you. Everything was as pictured or better, and we felt right at home. We loved our time here reading on the deck, sitting in the swing, and relaxing in the tub. One week wasn't long enough!

Great location to use as a base to explore the coasts and forests of northern California and Southern Oregon. Beds are a bit soft, Neighbor’s rooster is friendly, house is so cozy you might want to stay in rather than getting out and doing things.

Another great stay at this gorgeous cabin oasis!
We stayed here 3 years ago and had such a fantastic time as a family of three that we returned again to recreate the vacation this year as a family of four. The house is perfect. Larger than I remembered! So many fun details for kids and adults. Our four year old loved the bunk beds! And the adults love the steam shower :). On our first stay, we fell in love with the swing in the living room. We'd turn every light off in the house and watch the stars. Such a pleasure in the middle of winter. When we returned home, we purchased the same swing for our porch. Now we're thinking after this trip, we finally need to make that steam shower a reality in our house. ;) Thanks for a lovely, sunny winter escape in your beautiful slice of heaven.

Warm, refreshing winter stay
We stayed in while it poured and ventured out in the mist and bits of sun to coastal beaches and the redwoods. The house was a wonderful home base. Great features, including the wood stove, steam shower, kitchen amenities, and furniture. Great wood supply for the stove and plenty of extra blankets and towels. We loved it!

Second time just as magical
We returned to this property because we enjoyed it so much the first time. We had a great experience again. Everything was clean and comfortable. The house has many special touches like the unique woodwork, the steam shower, and the large bathtub that make it feel luxurious. We went to Lone Ranch Beach and Secret Beach this time. They were both great. I’d recommend this to any family or as a romantic stay for two.

The house was as advertised. Very comfortable and well appointed. Very private and isolated location yet close to highway 101 and town. Due to COVID we cooked in most nights. The kitchen was mostly well equipped but having rented numerous houses during the pandemic we brought with us the must have items just incase.

Great getaway
This house was perfect for our family of 7. It was super clean and maintained, and an easy distance to town and the beach. The big kids enjoyed the bunk room and skylight, and our toddler loved the little bed. The driveway is a little crazy, but doable.

We had a wonderful time! The house is gorgeous! There were more than enough towels and linens for our group of 8. Very clean home. Pretty well stocked kitchen. Loved the toys and bath oils by the big soaking tub! Tons of games to play (although, they were kept in the bathroom which is odd). Big, beautiful windows around the house! Cons: - VERY steep gravel road leading to house - Baking pans in the kitchen were grimey/dirty and could stand to be replaced. - Furniture (including the beds) not very comfortable - Front stairs were very challenging for my husband who has mobility issues Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. We didn't spend a whole lot of time at the home as we were busy exploring the area! Any complaints are minor and did not have a negative impact on our stay. Would love to stay here again if we're ever in the area!

A Time to Remember
This was our first opportunity to spend vacation time together as a family. The house was so incredibly beautiful, we all fell in love with the workmanship and detail that made it so wonderful. It had such a homey feel to it, that we were able to truly relax and enjoy each day of our vacation. The hiking trail that led to the brook was a favorite activity, as we enjoyed the wonders of the natural plants and creatures we encountered. There was absolutely nothing we could fault about the accommodations or our stay there. Thank you for the lifetime memories and stories that are now a part of our lives.

Woodsy Beach house
This property was gorgeous with exposed wood beams, an oversized tub with a forest view and a chef’s kitchen. The loft beds were a hit with our kids. The tasteful touches with the focus on the ocean view and not centered around the television was a nice break from technology. We will definitely return!

Home away from home
Property had everything we needed. It is a lovely and comfortable home. Plenty of room for everyone. Great location inside the S.H. Boardman Scenic Corridor. No Foosball table anymore, unfortunately. But plenty of games for us to play together. A couple of yard games would have been nice. It would have also been helpful to have an instruction booklet- we were eventually able to figure most everything out. Other than that, we were there for 2 weeks and had a great time. Brookings is a friendly small town and Gold Beach is just a short trip away.

Wonderful weekend in the woods!
My wife, a good friend, and I spent 4 nights in this amazing cabin tucked up in the woods about 10 mins outside of Brookings, OR. This spot is secluded, has an awesome view of the ocean, and is a short drive away from some amazing hikes but is also furnished with everything you might need to enjoy a rainy day if needed. Clean, easy to access, good internet, master bed/bath with a steam room, working fireplace, and lots of sleeping space if needed. We had a fantastic time here and will be returning again sometime soon!

Great Weekend Getaway
We went up to the Sundown Cabin for a quick beginning-of-Christmas-Break getaway. Our boys loved the fooseball table and the big bunk beds. We loved the beautiful finishes throughout the home. The heated floors were so nice in December and the master shower is amazing! The beach was great as always. The cabin is close to several great spots in Brookings. Views were beautiful too. We will definitely try to visit again!

This place was so perfect. Far enough away from people that you feel like you have privacy but a very short drive to beaches and stores. The pictures of the view do not give it justice! The steam shower was absolutely amazing and the tub could easily swallow me 😂. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with absolutely everything you could need and more. There were tons of games and stuff for kids, and the upstairs bedroom with the bunks was like heaven for them. The beds were meh, but not bad enough to deduct a star. I think the cleaning fee was a little crazy, but not any more expensive then everything else on VRBO. Will definitely be coming back.
