The only inconvenience was the host would show up without any notice. Coming to check to see if we needed the trash taken or needed anything else is nice and fine but would have liked a notice that they were coming by.'

'This property was clean, maintained and had everything we needed. The owner provided a lot of little nice touches, with premade bags for smores, snacks, packaged toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. The area is beautiful and has lots of deer to watch. My family had plenty of room to gather and visit as we all came in from separate states to celebrate my recently passed Mother's life. This was a great property to stay at while in Buckhannon. The next time we are back in Buckhannon we would happily stay...

'This property is beautiful. We had opportunity to rest and relax as well as room to prepare our contributions to the larger family Thanksgiving. Saturday saw us entertaining cousins for homemade soup and games. Mike (property owner). Graciously accepted our invitation and fit right in with the group…..definitely looking forward to going back!'

'We were there for our granddaughter’s wedding at Adaland Mansion. This was a convenient location for traveling to and from the event. The house was beautifully decorated and very roomy for a large family. Everything was clean and comfortable. The rain kept us from enjoying the outdoors but there was lots of room for outdoor sitting and grilling. Sherry is an exceptionally good host. I would recommend the riverfront home to anyone traveling to that area.'

'The house was a little hard to find the first day but we were fine getting around after that. We were welcomed by Sharon, who couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is very nice. It had everything we needed. The views were amazing and we loved just sitting on the front porch watching the river.'

'We had a great 4 day break and were looking for somewhere quiet compared to most Memorial Day lake locations. The house is right on the river. THe levels were low so it was more thans afe with supervision for our 4 kids ages 4-9 out there. We tubed and kayaked down the river. Unfortunately, water levels were too low for us to get the canoes out but the property has them as well for a very modest watercraft fee ($75) that covers the entire stay. 'This was a very charming beautiful old house. Perfect weekend stay for us and our fur babies. Thank you for allowing them! Perfect little fenced in back yard for them to run around a bit. Nice comfortable bed for us. Everything was wonderful. Could use a bit brighter lights for overhead but loved all of the soft lamps and decorations. Everything we needed for our weekend get away.'

'King bed in bedroom was a nice surprise. Still plenty of space in the room. Teenagers found the sleeper sofas comfortable. Rhododendrons and hemlock trees around the cabin were beautiful with snow. Nice view from inside cabin of the clear rocky bottom stream. Kitchen etc had everything we needed. Thank you!'

'Even though we spent most of our time sight seeing, the morning views of the creek were fantastic and easy access to go down onto the river itself. The property manager was very pleasant to speak with and gave us great suggestions on where to explore. The property was very clean and comfy, and we found the RGB lights to be a fun touch to the rental. Reccomend staying here to anyone!'

'Great historic house. Lots of documentation and some awesome little perks, too. Just be aware that in a 200 year old house, some things are different…but that doesn’t mean bad. Great experience for those who enjoy history.'
