Booked this house for an annual ice fishing trip with a few friends. House was great and the host was quick and easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this house if you plan to stay in Cadillac.

Family Fall Up North Getaway
The Rubida's Lake Mitchell house was as advertised. Great location, clean, accommodating, nothing to worry about. Owners were in communication at all times and made the experience easy and worry-free. We had a great time even though the weather messed with us a bit. But we still had a great time. Had bonfire, kayaked, visited a lot in the area. and along the coast. Watched the salmon jumping the Homestead Dam and hit Leland too. Good restaurants in the area. Herraduras Authentic Mexican Restaurant is good food and quite a price bargain. We loved the Up North escape!

Wish we had more time...
We were there for a wedding so didn't have much time to enjoy the lake. The time we did have, we were able to sit on the swing and look at the beauty of the water. Would definitely stay again. Only negative would be the shower is extremely small but its a small bathroom so it makes sense. Thank you for our stay at your home.

Fabulous return visit!
We had an amazing return visit, and it was as lovely as we remembered it from two years ago. We're already planning a winter return! Excellent communcation with hosts, delightful property with everything you could need and more, and a thoroughly relaxing place to unwind and relax. Just wish our schedule would have been conducive to staying longer!

Nice Cozy Lake Cottage
A cozy lake cottage with great views of the lake. The property was as advertised, and the additions of the canoe and kayaks were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the views. The kids had a great time playing in the lake.

This cottage was PERFECT for my family. The neighborhood was welcoming and friendly. The lake was beautiful and fun....and RIGHT in the backyard! The owners were very communicative and made the whole process very easy. The cottage look EXACTLY like their pictures and was very comfortable and safe for our family. We plan to book at this same location again!

Home offers enough space both inside and outside for entertaining or just relaxing and watching the sunrise. Nice dock with easy access to both lakes(Mitchell and Cadillac) owners have stocked home with a good selection of starter supplies. Beds were comfy.

.Relaxing vacation on beautiful Lake Mitchell!!!
The cottage was very comfy. Spent a lot of time in sunroom, with beautiful view, since weather was somewhat cool and breezy. Three things that would help to improve the stay would be an extra towel bar or two somewhere else in the cottage since bathroom is small. Also, had to move the knick knacks out of the bathroom so we could use shelves. Perhaps a sturdier dresser in main bedroom would be helpful. Oh, we found all the leftover condiments to be an attraction for the ants that we found in kitchen cupboards.. Obviously, we enjoyed our stay, since we immediately booked our vacation for the next year.

We had the most relaxing weekend. This rental was very cozy and warm. Everything you needed is available. Kayaks, Bikes, Video Games, etc. We hope to go again to this same spot for some fishing. The setting was beautiful.

Used the house for a fishing trip with 3 friends, fantastic to have our own dock on Lake Mitchell. Weather wasn’t very cooperative, but was nice to just head in and tie off til it passed.

We needed a few extra things for our stay and the host was not only able to accommodate but then checked to make sure we had received the items. The home was very clean and nice but with two kayaks and a canoe to use just out the back door we were rarely in the house.

Cozy home perfect for a little family
The location itself is quiet and feels private- right on the lake! There was everything we needed to be comfortable in the kitchen, living area and bedrooms. The canoes were a hit and the grill was great too! The bathroom is tiny, the window above the sink wouldn’t close/lock - but honestly, I’m really reaching for cons about this place! 😀

Lake too shallow for I / O boats , only caught 1 walleye, bathroom too small, shower too small , shower head no good should be removable, kids didn't like loft beds too small of area , vacuum cleaner didn't work cheap and poor maintenance of total property, alot of soft wood on dock and deck area needs maintenance, entrance doors all need maintenance along with all windows we were afraid of breaking they were so hard to operate. Not all burners on stove operate, refrigerator door doesn't seal correctly, bedroom door with bunkbeds doesn't latch and lock. Barbecue wasted tried using it cooks uneven was nasty grease all over. Place needs alot of maintenance and upgrades.

Nice get away
We loved the deck and views of the lake. Nice clean cottage to stay in. Shallow water for the kids to swim in. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. Our extended family rented the house next door for the week and we had a nice time together on Lake Mitchell. The loft can be extra toasty on a summer’s night but fun for older school aged children. Property manager very responsive.

Great stay - super communication with owners.
This was our second stay - great place although it would be nice to have cable [we don't have streaming service] and AC. Initially had a couple of problems: ants on the cupboard [not unusual for sandy areas] - bought "Home Defense" which took care of them. Then a pesky skunk - talked to owner who quickly responded and resolved problem. One of our visitors left a coffee mug that held special memories of his father. Talked to owner who quickly contacted cleaning person and we got the mug back - a big thanks to cleaner and owners!

This place is magic!
It's the sum of the parts that makes this property so special. The sparkle of the lake, the soft grass of the lawn, the crackling of the outdoor firepit, and the charm of the cottage on this quiet and tucked away cove on Lake Mitchell is why we keep returning to this property. Our days were spent in the kayaks, swimming in the lake, fishing off the dock, walking the loop past Camp Torenta, and finding peace and solitude. It's proximity to charming Cadillac with it's evolving dining and cocktail options, Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City for the views and vineyards, and and even up to unforgettable Mackinac Island makes our one week stay far too brief. Until next time!

Pretty location and house
We enjoyed our stay. The house is right on the lake and the view is beautiful. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The house is clean and kid friendly. The only things I’d add to make it an even better stay is access to the washer and dryer and a bigger couch. Otherwise it’s a great deal.

Amazing sunrises!!
An exceptionally clean and well appointed cottage with a wonderful attention to detail for the most part. We really were impressed with it and even more so with the absolutely amazing views of the sunrise 3 days in-a-row! The lake was like a mirrowed glass reflecting the sun and sky! Absolutely awesome!! Wish it had more space in the bathroom and a reminder for guests to bring their own towels and linen. Also, central a/c would be nice for heat of the summer but I imagine that the cool clear lake water would do a good job at that!! Sincerely, Andy & Janet

Very Hospitable
A lovely view of the lake through the windows - even on the cold rainy mornings. Everything was labelled in the house - light switches, how to work the locks, etc. which was more handy than you realize in a new home! The owners texted us when we got there to open a line of communication - which was the first time that's happened in the 13 years I've been renting VRBO's! They also texted on check out date to let us know we could stay later if we wanted since no one would be checking in. It was rainy while we were there and we had plenty to do indoors. A great setup for playing games in the den. The kids played the WII and we were able to connect ot Netflix to watch movies. The location is great. The water is shallow for wading. We went for a walk around the neighborhood. There is a convenience store just minutes away and a full Meijer grocery store, restaurants, etc. 15 minutes away. The only "complaint" I would say we had was that having to provide our own linens, towels, and pillows for 6 people was a pain (that's a lot of extra packing space!) Though it was clearly noted in the renter's agreement.

Very Nice!
This property was very nice. It was exactly what my parents needed for a week away from normal retirement life, which they keep extremely busy. They both said the property was very nice, clean, and had amazing sunrises. My dad‘s about 6’1”, 215 pounds and he said the shower was a little difficult for him to move around in. He also has back issues, so this is not a problem for most people. They both said this was a five star cottage and would highly recommend!

Lovely as always
Returned to this property to visit with family before summer ended. The cottage is adorable and the water access couldn't be better. My son spent hours snorkeling and finding clams in the clear water right off the dock. We also made use of the kayaks, the canoe, the fire pit, and the extensive collection of Disney DVDs. Hope to return again next summer!

We rented this for a family getaway and it was really nice. The rental has a pier we could tie our boat to and there was a ladder from the pier into the lake which was very shallow there making it easy to swim or kayak. There's lots of places to sit inside or outside. We had a very nice time

The cottage on the lake is a great place to get-a-way! The property is just as advertised and the owners were quick in responding to any questions. We had everything we needed and our 7 year old granddaughter was able to swim in the lake (it is very shallow) without worry of her getting out to deep. Would definitely book this location again.

Nice Little Place
We have rented this house 2 years in a row. It is so nice to just sit on the deck and be near the water! It is my favorite part. And is mostly what I do.. The water is shallow enough to get in and splash around. We have had such a relaxing time here! Definitely recommend! Not a good choice if you are there to party. It is a quiet area.

Great place with an awesome view
Really enjoyed our stay, even though it rained a couple of days and was quite windy [usualy it is not windy in this area]. We are booking for next year. The only thing we would strongly recommend would be Cable TV. The available stations do not have a strong signal and we do not have any type of streaming service so it gets boring. Also, we would recommend a "My Pillow Topper" for the Queen bed which would make it much more comfortable.

A lovely lakeside cottage
Booked Sunrise Shores to see family after almost a year due to COVID. The cottage is adorable and well-equipped with everything we needed. My son loved sleeping up in the loft and trying out a kayak. We hope to return when the weather is warmer to take full advantage of the waterfront access and swimming.
