The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Mexican food is very tasty, the hotel is clean and good located. The air conditioning works very well, the beds are comfortable and the shower has a good stream of cold and hot water.

It was a beautiful property but because it is an older resort, the towels,where’s,pillows etc were as old! The loungers had really old cushions on them and also not enough for all to enjoy. The buffet was not good and they only place what each dish was in Spanish. Not much entertainment and also the bar shuts down at 10:30! People want to be able to dance and party a bit at the resort

Si tienes oportunidad de invertir un poco mås en otro hotel sin duda hazlo, bien dicen que "lo barato sale caro" & aquí no fue la excepción. Desde que hice mi check in el personal de recepción apåtico, solo puedo rescatar al bellboy nuevo & al personal de la tarde del restaurante "cielito lindo" de ahí en fuera todo el personal es super apåtico & grosero, solo le dan preferencial a los extranjeros, a ti como nacional te ignoran & hasta te hacen unas caras pesadisimas si solicitas algo, yo también trabajo en la industria & jamås pensé en pasar por una estancia tan desagradable. También deben de especificar que ahora aparece el hotel como "dos playas" ya que para llegar buscas el mismo nombre que aparece en la pågina & en sus instalaciones tiene otro nombre. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

The property itself was kept moderately clean except for the occasional bird poop on the walkways. The food was okay and there was lots to choose from. The staff were nice and respectful. There is no airport shuttle included and if you do not pick a room with food included you have to pay extra. On the first arrival you have to pay additional fees for the stay at the hotel around $4 a night. The actual hotel rooms are outdated and look way different from the picture. This place although a bit pricey had a low budget look and feel to it.

Las paredes del baño rotas, una pérdida de agua en el piso. Basura delante del balcón. Siempre faltaba algo en el restaurante principal: platos o cubiertos o tazas o café. Hay que esperar y rogar para que te den la bebida en la parte del restaurante, porque los que lo atienden, son los mismos que atienden el bar y no pueden con tanta gente. Mala actitud de uno de los mozos, un señor mayor. En cambio, excelente atención de un jovencito, 5 estrellas para Andrés. Los típicos tacos Mexicanos? Una sola vez los pudimos comer en Cielito lindo, después de pasar también por la mala actitud de uno de los mozos, que teniendo mesas desocupadas, no nos dejaba entrar. Muy buena atención en la recepción y del personal de mantenimiento y limpieza. El lugar es hermoso, con mucha naturaleza y buena ubicación. Los shows muy buenos, las piscinas limpias, la comida buena, excepto la ausencia de tacos. Fui con mis dos hijos, por 4 días.

Todo horrible
El hotel viejo, feo, sucio, pesima atencion en recepcion. El check inn me tardaron 1 hora y me queriancobrar al menor extra cuando ya estaBa pagado. Decian que rwcibian el dolar en 15 y a la mera hora de aceptar pagar al menor me querian cobrar el dolar a 18 Al final . Decidimos NO quedarnos en el hitel. Ya que en alguna otra ocacuon estuvimos ahi y tampoco tuvimos buena experiencia.

buenas tardes Jesica lamento que hayas tenido mala experiencia con nosotros pero es necesario aclarar la reserva que hiciste era 2 adultos y un menor de menos de 1 año osea un bebe y llegaste con un menor de 10 años , por supuesto que el hotel te va a cobrar por el menor ya que la diferencia son solo 9 años , respecto al dolar en la recepcion hay un letrero visible con el tipo de cambio esto es un reglamento gubernamental precisamente para evitar esto.

Excelente lugar, muy recomendado
Es un excelente lugar en relaciĂłn calidad precio. El buffet es variado y la comida buena, la atenciĂłn del personal es lo mejor, son muy atentos. Hay todos los servicios, la playa es hermosa, piscinas y el bar sirve bebidas buenas asĂ­ como snacks. Tuvimos el mejor año nuevo con una fiesta hermosa y parrillada argentina, se esmeran porque el huĂ©sped se sienta bien. El parque acuĂĄtico es una actividad muy divertida en familia. Lo Ășnico que no me gustĂł fue el aseo en las duchas, podrĂ­a mejorar bastante ese aspecto.

Painful stay
Had terrible stay for a night last week. Got my wrist fractured due to broken stairs to beach. Our room 103 was infested with some rodent that ate the bread we had bought. The AC remote didn’t work and had to walk all the way to lobby to report the issue. The room phones don’t work. Other than the location there is nothing positive to write about from my trip.

The property itself was wonderful. Small, pretty and only steps to the beach. The restaurant, kid pool, and housekeeping staff worked their butts off and were always smiling and super friendly. The variety of food choices around the resort were amazing as well. If you didn’t feel like their buffet for lunch there was pizza, sushi, or burgers. The buffet was tasty and always a lot to choose from. They had a different theme each night of the week from Asian to Hawaiian, and Mexican to New Orleans. A big A to all of the above. The room we stayed in was definitely outdated, but everything worked. There were four of us and we booked a double standard (King and a Double bed in the room) when we checked in (overwhelming experience-story to come), we got a room with two double beds. My 20 year old son and us took turns sharing a double bed with our 6 year old for the two weeks. After a few days of being uncomfortable I looked on the website to confirm that double standard was Infact a king and a double bed, and it was, so we tried to switch rooms but they made it really difficult for us, so we decided to stay and make it work. The next issue.. Expedia/resort advertising. We booked an all inclusive trip, only to find out upon check in that we didn’t! In order for me to feed my family for the two weeks I had to pay $1900.00 Canadian, at check in, to upgrade to all inclusive. Talk about a punch in the gut- there went all our vacation spending money. Review maxed out-can’t finish.

Just like the other reviewer's the hotel room i stayed looked nothing like the pictures because it was at the hotel Dos Playas and not the Hotel Maya Caribe, even though I booked at Maya Caribe. It is a bait and switch tactic and after talking to other guest I was not the only one. One of them did complain and they switched them room so that is something you can try. I didn’t want to argue and with 2 kids under 2 I already had enough on my plate. Now about the actual room, it’s old. From the light fixtures to the bed its very old. I guess you get what you pay for however in my case i didn’t pay for that and still got that. The bed only has two bed sheets and both had stains on them. Towels are thin and old and the door looks like it had the landlord special (painted and shaved on the edges probably because of humidity). The noise was not bad despite being in the entrance and first floor. Recap, room is old so don’t expect luxury and at least it was clean. For Food i only paid for the breakfast since the other reviews did not have good experiences on the food and they are correct. If you are doing all day excursions not even breakfast is worth it since you end up leaving before they open. Staff was friendly especially so if you tip. Even if you don’t everyone was nice and friendly. The only person that had a slight attitude was the security guard but it was 1 AM and I also would be grumpy if i worked night shift. The ocean was great and rooms are close by.

This property needs a total renovation. The rooms have no solid door and has a gap between the walls so you can see out the halls and so noisy that no one can sleep. No shower curtains or toilets working properly at all.

We stayed here at the beginning of December 2023 with the family. The territory of the hotel is green, the sea was amazing. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. There was a Maxican day with all the Mexican dishes. On the rest of the days during our 1-week stay the food was from different regions but everything was tasty and fresh and the service in the restaurant was great. They also serve sushi, pizza and burgers during the day in other restaurants which are also quite good. The selection of drinks was more than enough. The property has some stairs when you move around but not a lot. They provided complimentry 2 bottles of water daily and there was a filter in the hall. The room itself is not so new and the faucets in the washroom could have been more convenient.But the overall stay for the price was decent.

My room had no hot water the toilet was broke both beds were unstable mattresses stacked on top of each other very wobbly and not secure very uncomfortable. Our flights got delayed so we missed our 1st night nothing was offered for the day missed the property advertised a waterpark for the kids but it was not available the food was trash the uncomfortable mattresses were dirty they only provided a thin sheet to sleep in room was hot the ac barely worked I will not recommend and I will not be back

The small size of the hotel was a big plus for us. We had a ground floor room with a patio overlooking the ocean. We could easily walk to food/drinks in the hotel as well as public transportation and ferry to the island.
