I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights each under my name in November. In January the couple to use the 2nd room had to cancel. I contacted Expedia and Holden Manz and was told I could cancel but would get no refund due to the terms Holden Manz setup with Expedia. Those terms could only be found after booking and paying in full in November for the 2 nights in April. "We understand that sometimes plans fall through. We do not charge a cancel or
change fee. When the property charges such fees in accordance with its own
policies, the cost will be passed on to you. Holden Manz Country House charges the
following cancellation and change fees.
The room/unit type and rate selected are non-refundable. Should you change or
cancel this reservation for any reason, your payment will not be refunded.
No refunds will be issued for late check-in or early check-out.
Stay extensions require a new reservation.
Prices and hotel availability are not guaranteed until full payment is received.If you
would like to book multiple rooms, you must use a different name for each room.
Otherwise, the duplicate reservation will be canceled by the hotel." Based on those terms the 2nd room should have been cancelled when it was booked as both rooms were in my name. The guest reception manager told me if I had booked directly I could cancel 2-3 days before and get a full refund. The rate was not a "special" rate. In fact it was $586/night per room per day.
