Great service from the lovely staff. My room was spacious and clean. Good wifi and just a short walk from the shopping centre. It is an older building and could do with a touch up but I would definitely stay here again.

Beoordeling Sandringham hotel
Het hotel ligt op een perfecte locatie voor wie het nachtleven in wil. Daarnaast ligt het midden in een winkelgebied en het grote Millenium stadion is maar 500mtr verder. Voor Cardiff Castle hoef je maar de straat uit te lopen. Kortom een hotel dat midden in de stad ligt. Alleen parkeren dien je in een parkeergarage te doen (plusminus 700mtr vanaf hotel) en is mbv het hotel maar 9 pond per 24uur.

Staff, particularly Allison, were wonderful. Good location. All basic needs were met. Room was clean. Hotel a bit worn. Also have to go up 20 stairs to lobby, so maybe not so great for older folks.

Sandringham is clean and has everything you need - staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very old and is showing its age. Weekend breakfasts are delicious and filling. Very convenient to train station and Principality Stadium. Bars in area can be noisy at night.

Friendly helpful staff. Building is old and in need of a lot of TLC. Sheets were clean and of good quality. Beds are extremely uncomfortable, at least in our room. Saggy, thin mattress. Can’t beat the location, very central. Noisy, because we are on the Main Street a lot of noise carries up. Walls are thin, you can hear loud voices and the shower on the next room. Overall a decent stay. It doesn’t advertise as a luxury room. For the price it was ok. Can’t beat the location.

This is an excellent option for a traveller on a budget. The location in the center of Cardiff is super convenient and very close to the train station. I only stayed one night and unfortunately was unable to connect to the hotel's wifi. I am unsure if this is an ongoing issure or simply bad luck. It was not something vital for me during my single night stay, especially as I had excellent cellular reception. However, I would be remiss in not mentioning it for any travellers that rely on hotel wifi.

This was my second stay at the Sandringham Hotel. It is not fancy, but it was clean & the staff were friendly. There is a decent cooked breakfast available on the weekends. It is a short 5 minute walk from Cardiff Central Train Station. There is no lift, & the hotel reception is upstairs from the street.

It was a great location, 5-10 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station. Very busy street so just be aware if you are staying at the weekend. The windows were fab though, you could barely hear anything with them closed. It may be a little dated, but so clean and very comfortable. Plenty of towels, and all the necessities such as hair dryer, kettle and drinks. The staff were so helpful, letting us store our luggage after checkout so we could go shopping. 5 minute walk from Cardiff Castle, 10 minute walk from the National Museum. They had a map for us, gave local information. Would recommend, and already have! Would stay again and book direct with the hotel next time as much nicer to deal with a real person in my opinion. Overall, lovely stay, beds so comfy we slept in almost til checkout time!

Was it a 5 star hotel? No. But it doesn’t pretend to be. It was however a decent 2 star hotel for the price. Yes, it's dated, but it was clean and had character, and it made a nice change from the soulless chain hotels I normally stop in.

Fantastic location, you literally step out into the centre. Great value for money but be warned, there are quite a few steps to get up to reception and then your room as there is no lift.

Hotel was in the perfect location for us as we traveled to see a band which were playing a street away from the hotel. Was greeted by a lovely lady on reception (sorry don't know name) and she couldn't of been more polite and helpful. Considering the hotel is located in Cardiff city center it wasn't loud at night which was surprising. The room was the right temperature as well. Not too hot or cold. We had a pleasant stay and if we are ever in Cardiff again, this hotel will be our go to.:)

The best affordable & comfortable hotel in Cardiff
There are 3 of us, a very comfortable stay. Very quiet though in the city centre. Easy to walk to most of the famous 'must go' areas within 10-30 munutes. Great service at any time of your need. Great affordable price. The most impresssive thing is - there are 3 very comfortable armchairs in the room. We all loved to stay in this hotel.

The property is old building but overall clean and good. Just one thing pity is no own parking. You have to park nearby NCP parking lot which was quite expensive but you can get discount code at hotels. The parking is the only issue. Hotel location is just at the center of the city. Close to shopping mall and the castle.

I love the fact that it’s family owned and just simple and nice. Be aware that there is no elevator and just stairs but it’s all good. Clean and friendly staffs as well.

Budget hotel with bath
Interior of the hotel is a bit outdated, but clean and functional. Small electric heating. It took time to heat the room, but after it stay nice warm for all our stay. Good value for money. Unlike another budget hotels, this one has a bath! No lift in the hotel

Very friendly, and centrally located hotel in the middle of Cardiff! Only negative the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night due to a guest showering and leaving the door open!
