'This hotel was fine, as I was not expecting much. They are re roofing (we were not aware of this prior to booking) and that’s all you see. The TV had terrible clarity. I didn’t even think they made TVs like that anymore. Clearly no HD channels. We had to ask for a blanket on the second night as the bedding is very light ( I prefer some heft). The location is great and the breakfast was plentiful and good. Despite all that is mentioned here, we will be going back in 2 months- due to the low cost...

'Schattig uitziend hotel met kleine maar net ingerichte kamer. Vlak bij het centrum van Carmel en op loopafstand van het strand. Mijn favoriete deel van het bezoek was na de zonsondergang op het strand te hebben gezien en de kinderen in bed gestopt, op te wamen bij het haardvuur in de binnentuin.'

'Mooie locatie, keuken en woonkamer prettig, behulpzaam personeel. Minpuntjes waren (1) de doorgezakte bedden, waarbij het personeel hun best deed dit te verhelpen door de topper te verwijderen, maar eigenlijk is het geheel aan vervanging toe. (2) De slaapkamer van kamer/verblijf nr 1 ligt naast de airco of ander apparaat dat dag en nacht behoorlijk wat geluid maakt.'

'Svendsgaard's Inn is redelijk kleinschalig, de appartementen kijken uit op een mooie, goed onderhouden binnentuin. Er is een ruim parkeerterrein, een zeldzaamheid in Carmel. Het zwembad is netjes, er zijn enkele ligstoelen, maar het is aan de kleine kant, met een paar personen is het vol. Wij hadden bij het boeken niet door dat het complex zich profileert als topbestemming voor hondeneigenaren. In heel Carmel zijn honden prominent aanwezig.
