An older building, so narrow hallways, small rooms and bathrooms, creaky stairs. We found it quaint, and cleanliness was excellent. Fantastic location. Courteous staff. Would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pine Inn. I would recommend this Inn to all. The only thing that would make it better would be to have a coffee maker in the room.

My wife & I have stayed at the Pine Inn on numerous occasions. While the hotel is a little older, and that comes with a certain charm, we find it generally to be good value & it has a great location. And if you pick the right room, you get a good ocean view. On our most recent stay we couldn't get our usual room type & opted to stay in one of the suites. While still part of the hotel, the suites are located on the eastern side of the hotel and have their own entrance. The suite was large & had a separate living room with a fireplace which we were able to use for some pre dinner drinks with family. The downside of the suite was that it had very few outward facing windows. The majority of the windows are in the living area and faced toward a publicly accessible courtyard. However, for Carmel and considering the size of the room, it was reasonable value. As usual the staff at check in were friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and loved everything about it. It reminded us of the old hotels in Paris or Rome. Built in 1889 and looks amazing!

The Inn cannot provide enough parking spaces for their guests. Be prepared to deal with the "musical chairs" aspect of parking in Carmel. Other than that, the location is fantastic. We wish we could have spent more time in one of the most beautiful locations in the country.

Review Title: Challenging Stay Amidst Renovations and Parking Woes My recent stay at a hotel in Carmel was marred by a couple of significant issues that future guests should be aware of. Firstly, the lack of on-site parking presented a considerable inconvenience from the get-go. Carmel is a charming town, but like many quaint destinations, it struggles with limited public parking options. Guests staying at this hotel should prepare to spend a good amount of time hunting for a parking spot, which is not the ideal start to a relaxing getaway. Moreover, my hopes for a peaceful weekend retreat were dashed early on Sunday morning. Despite the anticipation of sleeping in and enjoying the serene environment that Carmel is known for, I was rudely awakened at 5 AM by the sounds of ongoing renovations. The loud noises of construction work, including hammering and drilling, were incredibly disruptive. While I understand the need for periodic updates and maintenance, the early timing, especially on a Sunday, seemed inconsiderate and poorly planned. While the hotel itself boasts some redeeming qualities such as its prime location and potentially charming amenities, these were overshadowed by the parking difficulties and the early morning disturbances. I had looked forward to a tranquil stay, exploring the picturesque surroundings and enjoying undisturbed rest, which unfortunately was not the case.

It should be rated a 2star. Old rooms with dirty lamp shades, internet and tv down, no elevator, bed made noise everytime you moved, smelly room. So overpriced for the value. The staff were all very nice.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and first time (October 2023) was phenomenal. This time (January 2024), not so great. Our reservation wasn’t in the system; the staff was not in a hurry; front desk person just left us standing there. Finally it was found and we got a tiny room in desperate need of a face lift. Later on we got kicked out of the lobby for having a glass of wine. Too bad really. Different hotel next time.

Parking is limited and gets full quickly. There should be options to park at other hotels vs on the street. Good property. No breakfast options at the hotel which can be inconvenient. Coffee in the room would be a good addition.

Lost our reservations, was assigned a room outside the main building with narrow steep staircase. Room furniture inside was old interior, poor lighting in all of the rooms. Very disappointed.

There are some house keeping issues Pine Inn may want to check into:1) The toilet does not flush well. You need to keep your hand on the handle in order to completely flush. 2) Room is too hot even the heating system is set at 0 or1. We had to keep the windows open to cool down the room. One of the windows does not stay up/open. Maybe this is the reason the "exit door" around the corner in the hallway is always open to keep the temperature in the hallway cool. 3)There is a horizontal black pipe hooked to the radiator that runs into the floor. It creates loud banging noise from time to time. Our room is above the restaurant's kitchen. We hear the noise bringing the trash out to the dumpster and being pick up by the garbage truck starting at 7:43 am. We can also hear every motorcycle and car driving by and evert conversation by people walking by. This is the second time we stayed at the Pine Inn. We stayed in a newer room and had no noise and no maintenance issues. The staff are very nice. We hope our comments will help the hotel and the future patrons.
