We had a flight that came in at 10 pm and expected the shuttle to pick us up at the airport but the shuttle had stopped running the month before. That left us scrambling for other services at 10 pm.

Overall a good stay. Only 2 issues I would have was that there was no toilet paper in my room which I did receive after asking for. The other is that the parking lot area was quite littered with various items.

I think the hotel itself is really maintained and as well pretty clean for what's around the area but pretty unsafe on the outside, never been to a gas station with armed security. good hotel just unsafe location

The lady MITCHELL at the front receptionist desk was very respectful and very polite and understanding and helpful.And the design and structure and decoration of the building is beautiful and well cleaned and maintained. I would recommend that someone stay there if they decide to visit. And the hospitality that the staff present is very professional and acceptable.

Our flight was canceled and we needed a place to spend the night. This listing appeared to be close to the airport. The hotel did not provide any transportation and it cost us over $20 for a relatively short ride. This hotel should not be listed as close to airport.?

The staff was great, however I booked the room under confirmation they had shuttle service to and from airport. I called while waiting to take off at airport to arrange for shuttle only to be informed they no longer had this service. At the time of booking earlier in March they did. I had to Uber to hotel, sign on the counter effect 3/22/24 no more shuttle, this was the 26th. They had my ph# & email yet I was not notified. Two Uber trips I had to pay for when they’d confirmed they had shuttle service. Not happy.

I've never stayed at Best Western before, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I was travelling from the Tampa Bay Area. Special shout out to the Front Desk manager named Tami she went above and beyond for getting me checked in smoothly and found me a great room there.

The staff was warm and welcoming during our stay. It was noisy at night making it hard to sleep. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I know they are doing much needed updates. While walking to dinner we saw a large group having an altercation.

First room had used soap left at sink. Garbage can in room had a takeout container left in it. Carpet had a big hole in it. Electrical outlet was hanging off wall. View out window was of a dumpster. Got moved to another room. Still had view of dumpster. Had a shower and 6-7” of water filled the tub while water was running. Hair coated the tub as it was slowly draining. Hair backed up from drain and coated the sides. There was a ring around the tub and it did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our use. At 9:30pm had customers trying to get into our room as they were given our room as well. Terrifying experience when awoken to hear someone trying to enter our room.

When I arrived, the water was out until 6pm because the boiler was being replaced. There was a bug in the bathroom, the TV was a little glitchy, and I could smell weed from the hallway in the AM without even opening my door. But, the bed was clean, I felt safe, and the staff were nice and friendly.

Hotel under renovations.
So they have started the interior remodel of the Best Western Lower South End Hotel and the construction noise can get loud during the day. Also, when I checked in on Tuesday afternoon I was informed the City of Charlotte had shut the water off to the property due to a main water line break on Old Pineville Road which runs along the side of the hotel. The staff at checkin informed me the water would be back on around 6:00pm however it was well after midnight before the water was turned back on.

Queens University visit
The staff were very nice and helpful, but the hotel was not in great shape. I didn’t expect to have renovations being done on a daily basis and there were a lack of amenities. For a cheap place to stay it was OK.

Could’ve been better
Negatives- Nasty stained and ripped carpet. Bugs in bathroom. Sink took forever to drain just from washing your hands and even longer when brushing your teeth, no water pressure in the shower and you have to hold the knob on the toilet the whole time in order to get the toilet to flush. Key card constantly unlinks making it where you cannot get into the hotel or your room but it is a quick fix at the front desk. On a positive note- Having the refrigerator and a microwave is a nice perk for leftovers and the ice machine being right down the hall.

Well, if you need a place..cheap…
Dated property that has had multiple “refreshes” consisting of another coat of paint. Not sure what was more enjoyable- being accosted by vagrants and homeless anytime you walked out the front door or the fact that the property was warmed to the surface of the sun without the heater on. The staff was great, the breakfast was mediocre, and the bathtub looked like a crime scene. But for an overnight, it sufficed.

The lady at check in was very helpful. Beds seemed clean. Close to where we need to go. Needs updated. The shower head was weird and curtain was too little and flooded the floors. The walls must be paper thin. We were woke up by other rooms talking and showering. Breakfast area not very organized. Street across from property was very sketchy. Overall good price.
