The Cottage at Chichester, in de Catskills Mountains

The Cottage at Chichester ligt op zes minuten van Phoenicia, op slechts tien minuten van Hunter Mountain en op twintig minuten van Woodstock. Genesteld tussen twee bergen, met een beek aan de achterzijde van het pand, biedt het huisje een serene bosrijke omgeving die zeker zal verrukken. Het prachtige nieuwe dek is voorzien van verborgen verlichting, perfect voor betoverde zomeravonden.

Het huisje is onberispelijk schoon gehouden, niets minder zal doen voor onze gasten. U zult genieten van het volledige tegelbad met retro-stijl wastafel, het hart houten vloeren, moderne keuken en dakramen. De nachtelijke hemel wordt niet gehinderd door kunstlicht, het uitzicht is geweldig!

Cozy Family Time
We were here during a very rainy week and missed hanging out on the beautiful deck canopied and surrounded by lush Forest. We did sit for a bit there as the trees were so thick that if the rain was light- we didn’t get wet. I was there with my two daughters in their twenties and we were happy as clams playing games, laughing and cooking together in this sweet cottage. The bedrooms are all nice and the master/primary bedroom was really nice for me. We would definitely come back!

time off getaway
Came up to the area for live music. I had my daughter meet me there for the weekend so we can have peaceful quality time together. We accomplished that with this stay. We found our way to the river and spend most of our time chilling and catching up there. Bring bug spray! The cottage was just enough for our needs. We would recommend this retreat to anyone looking to unplug and regroup. We ourselves would stay again for sure!

Great place to stay near Phoenicia and near the mountains
This is a great place to stay! It is just a short drive in one direction to Phoenicia and a short drive in the other direction to hiking around Kaaterskill Falls. You can hear the lovely sound of the Esopus Creek flowing nearby. The property manager is very nice.

Terrific stay in the Catskills
Stayed in the Cabin at Chichester for 2 nights and had a great time. We were unlucky with weather so we weren't able to fully utilize the property, however this made for a nice quiet stay in. Great and friendly communication with the propery owner Paul, who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back here again next time we need to get away!

Awesome place
This was a very nice place. We had a great time, everything was good. I would just say that the TVs in the rooms don’t really work or I didn’t know how to get them to work lol. Also, the water smells a bit like metal pipes. Other than that awesome place to stay at. Thanks Paul!

We were looking for a quiet place to spend a simiple relaxing weekend and this fit the bill perfectly. The Catskills are beautiful and the house and property are nestled quite nicely between two mountains. The property was clean and well kept, we had a comfortble relaxing weekend.

Ski Belleayre
Since skiing was my main activity, it was important to be a convenient distance from the mountain. It was about 25 minutes, door to door. Although, I was initially looking for something a bit closer, it worked out just fine. Also, I did some exploration and discovered that the house is also a convenient distance from Hunter mountain...about the same. The house had a few quirks, but nothing that would prevent me from booking again. The owner was very responsive and respectful of my privacy. All in all, a great trip!

A great stay
I want to start by thanking Paul, the owner, for responding to my phone call promptly about having trouble with the TV & Wi-Fi. So glad he was local and came right over to help. Fast forward to the end of our stay and we had car trouble which Paul also helped us with. Super host. The cottage was very nice, very clean and in a perfect location. Suited us just fine. Plus it was very easy to get to. And added bonus was we were able to bring our Old English Sheepdog! There was no restrictions for him. We were there to hike and had no problem finding trails, they were everywhere ! Thank you Paul for having us, God willing we will be back! Valerie

We had a great stay at Paul's cottage! It is a beautiful property and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Just down the road from Phoenicia and a short drive to other great towns and hikes.

We had a nice two day stay at the cottage. Very convenient to the town of Phoenicia - enjoyed the Diner for breakfast and Brio’s for dinner. Great hiking nearby. Cottage was perfect for our autumn getaway.

Great place to stay
The house was very cozy and welcoming. Found it easy to get comfortable quickly, the surrounding area was beautiful to explore. My only minor complaint would be that the stream in the backyard was a bit hard to access because it was overgrown, not like in the pictures. We still had a wonderful time visiting and found plenty of other rivers and streams to play in. Would definitely book again. Also, the first two nights we were there there were some thunderstorms and the power went out but the owner took care of it very quickly for us.
