We were contacted by Jorge after we booked to arrange the transport. We'd already booked a private shuttle as we were coming from Arenal, but he advised that if we wanted to meet up with the usual transport, to be at a certain restaurant by 9am or be at the dock by 11am for the boat to the Lodge. There were other boats we could catch at 12.30 or 3pm if we missed the 11am.
Our driver was late by 15 minutes, so he called ahead and tried to get them to wait for us. The luggage boat was waiting which was awesome, but no one spoke to us when we got off the boat, so we just grabbed our bags and went to reception to check in. This action was very unusual because most people seem to know the process, and the girl was very rude to us. We had to find our guide and he would fill us in & tell us our room number. There was much confusion but we involved the manager and it got better.
