Great House for Friends Gathering

Family gathering
We rented this house for a family gathering. The inside of the house was clean, but only had a few bath towels and a few toilet paper rolls. The outside was recently cut, however looked like it hadn’t been attended to since winter. The outside furniture , cushions and tables was covered with debris and grime. Contacted the owner and he apologized and sent someone to clean the outside and supply toilet paper. We got the toilet paper and they hosed off the concrete in the back only. The front of the house needed attention as it showed signs of deterioration.We were not able to use the outdoor space. The pictures in the listing suggest it is on the lake with a picture of a swing by the water. The swing was in a public area down the road. The water access was a small canal which does lead to the bigger lake, but not what was expected. Other than that we did enjoy our stay.

Birthday Getaway
To celebrate the August and September birthday's our family rented Jared's property on this great private lake, and we were not disappointed! Great cozy, very comfortable house that had enough room to accommodate six adults and two teens. There's plenty of outdoor space to play games or relax on the party patio to watch a game. If you like to fish or kayak, this is your place, the house comes with the equipment to do both. Jared the host is very quick to respond if you have any questions. Definitely on our list to rent again.

HORRIBLE
Inaccurate description of the property & house. House was not cleaned from last guest. There is a large hole in 1 of the sloping living room couches. The owner was extremely slow to respond even though he responded very quickly & even initiated conversation PRIOR to us checking in. This was supposed to be my Husband’s birthday celebration and it was a COMPLETE BUST. The owner offered to refund me for the cleaning fee (plus more for the inconvenience) since he forgotten to have it cleaned before our check in. Of the $115 cleaning fee, he sent me $110, which was less & of course nothing more. This was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience that I have EVER had using a rental property. I attempted to have VRBO intervene to no avail. I’ll certainly be sharing this experience with family & friends.

Wow what a blind side review. First I returned $150 to make up for the cleaning service not being there which was a mistake on my end as I was on my honeymoon out of the country. Secondly, we discussed if there was anything else I can do to make up for the cleaning not being done and you said no everything is perfectly fine now and the house is awesome! I might add the cleaning service showed up that night to clean and you told them to leave. This review needs to be removed as this is false information.

Great house and neighborhood
we brought our 4 teens/young adults and had a wonderful weekend. The community activities on the weekend before July 4 were such an added bonus! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Our stay was very enjoyable, the owner was responsive and helpful. Only complaint was there were no paddles for the kayaks. Other than that we had no issues and would come back in a hearbeat.

Best little hide away
This is the perfect little escape if you want to get off the grid for a few days. The house was exceptionally clean and the owner was friendly and responsive to any message I sent him. My friend loved it as well. We drank coffee/tea on the front porch as a neighbor waved Hello one morning. Definitely going back! Julia

Beautiful neighborhood, nosy neighbors
I vacationed here with my husband and 4 kids. Pulling in to the neighborhood was beautiful. Trees everywhere and a beautiful lake to look at across the street. We were excited to fish, go swimming in the lake and making a bonfire for my family and I to enjoy s’mores. Our stay was during Spring Break, and unfortunately, the weather never got warm enough to swim but my kids didn’t want to miss the opportunity, so they jumped into the lake anyway. My two teenagers were excited to fish. We were told by the host that behind the house was a good fishing spot. The water level directly behind the house was extremely shallow. Probably only a couple feet deep. We spent two days fishing with the live bait we bought at the local store, but never even saw a fish! That was a bit disappointing, but the memory of that will last forever. The neighborhood is gorgeous! I enjoyed coffee on the front porch every morning and enjoyed the birds singing. It was really peaceful. Our only complaint is the neighbors were all pretty nosy. As soon as we arrived and started to walk the property, the neighbor approached us and started giving us a bunch of rules to follow and informing us of all of the No Trespassing areas. When my family and I were in the backyard, the neighbor would constantly be staring at us. The house on the other side was vacant, but had construction workers in and out all day. They too, would stare at us while we were in the backyard, to the point my teen daughter and I were uncomfortable. There is no privacy fence, so it was super awkward. Another time, while we were leaving the lake area, another neighbor approached my husband as we’re about to drive off. She asked a lot of questions. She made it a point to mention that the community doesn’t like the “rental” house, as she calls it. She said that they don’t follow the trespassing signs and wonder through everyone’s yards. She came off really aggressive. I didn’t understand her reasoning for approaching us. We went to this lake house to get away from it all and enjoy the outdoors, no electronics. We had plans to go back next year and make it a tradition. Unfortunately, because of all the nosy neighbors, we won’t be returning.

Rachel, I am so sorry to hear about the noisy neighbors! The house next door was just bought and remodeling the entire thing. They tore down the fence recently but we both are planing on matching the fence to my other side very shortly. As far as the neighbors go, you spoke with the neighbor across the street who has no authority of the neighborhood. She is who we call the “cat lady”. I would have told you to ignore her and use the lake as freely as you want. As far as the fishing in the back of the house, unfortunately the water is low right now but I’ve caught many bass back there! I hope next year you reach out and give us another chance on hosting your family!

Cute & Comfy Bungalow
We decided to stay here while in town for my brother's wedding. It was perfect and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. We were intially going to stay at the hotel where everyone had rooms blocked and we were so glad we decided to stay here instead. Weather was a little chilly for all of us to enjoy the back patio but my husband loved sitting out there during the evening. Communicating with Jared was smooth and he was always professional. We will be back! Highly recommend!

Great stay!
We stayed at this bungalow for the month of January 2023. Everything is exactly as described. The house is clean, well stocked with pretty much everything you need, and is very comfortable. The covered deck outside is wonderful for relaxing and watching the waterfowl that frequently inhabit the back yar. It is in a nice location for walking, jogging and biking - we biked around the entire lake numerous times during our stay. It is very convenient to dining and shopping. Also nearby is the town of Montgomery, great for antiquing.

We had a great time during our stay. I went with 2 other families and we all had our own private spaces as well as a great communal area to hang out. If we ever have an event in this area I would definitely consider this place again. Owner was always in contact with us which was great. This property was perfect for our stay. The house is very roomy, clean, beautiful and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. We even had a visit from the white cat and dog from next door. They were the perfect greeting committee. We will definitely rent this property again.

We had a great time! Property is right off main road with restaurants and about 30 min from Renaissance Festival. The beds were comfortable and kitchen was stocked well. Cute little wine bar too. Only criticism would be the outside chair cushions probably need to be replaced. Otherwise thanks for the nice rental!

Quaint Lakeside Bungalow
Loved our stay at this cute little lake house. We stayed here for a month while we searched for a home of our own in the area. It was absolutely perfect for our needs- spacious, dog friendly and convenient to shopping. The home was very clean and adorably decorated. The kitchen was well stocked, so making meals for the month was a breeze. Jared was very communicative and accommodating. Overall, a wonderful month spent in a cozy home on a beautiful lake.

The house worked out well for visiting and board games with extended family. If you are looking for a nice house with quick access to Conroe, this is a great fit! Since we had intended on some extended swim time with young children, we were a little disappointed in the lake itself (brown water, mucky sand, and a short walk to the park area to access the water.) If kayaks had been allowed/accessible, you could easily utilize the small channel in the backyard to access the lake. The hosts were very responsive, provided good information for local restaraunts/activities, and have a beautiful property!

We LOVED our stay here! The location was absolutely beautiful! The house was perfect for our party of 10 (8 adults 2 kids). The host was extremely responsive and accommodating! We will be staying here again in the future!! If I had one piece of constructive criticism it would be for them to offer more quality towels. We felt like we were all using the same four. Family Glamping Weekend
We 5 had a great time cooking, playing games, walking the neighborhood and had a wonderful fire in the firepit. Weather was perfect to enjoy the outdoors. House was just the right setup for us all. About the only thing we felt the house could use is a bit more plastic food storage and serving bowls. Friendly neighborhood cat visited us outdoors as we readied to leave. Hope we can enjoy another weekend in the future!

The lakeside bungalow was the perfect spot for four high school girlfriends to get together 50 years after graduation. It was roomy and clean and in a great location. There was lots to do within driving distance as well as nice to sit on the front porch for hours as we visited.

Nice getaway.
The property is located in a quite area but close to restaurants and stores. It is also very close to lake Conroe. 4 queen size beds in 3 bedrooms could easily sleep 8 and the bed in the master was quite comfortable. The theme and decor in the house was nicely done. The yard is good sized and would be have been great for a dog or children. Down rated on cleanliness because of a leak in the drain under the kitchen sink, being collected in a bowl, which smelled pretty foul when we opened the cabinet. Emptying the bowl was also difficult because it would not fit thru the door upright. Should be an easy fix by the host. Down rated on check in and communication because we did not receive check in information until the afternoon before our arrival. I would have preferred a couple of days earlier. I was beginning to wonder if we would actually have a place to stay. Overall very nice place and we would readily stay there again.
