This property is nested in the foothills of the Sapphire Mountain Range in the Bitterroot Valley. Beautiful scenery - had a herd of elk in the front yard on Christmas Eve. For the outdoorsman - dream vacation.

Quite gem in the hills
The property location is close enough to go into town to pick up forgotten/last minute items but far enough away from town to enjoy the unobstructed beauty of the area. The host was a wonderful/helpful man who would answer any questions one would have. Stayed for a wedding and hosted a brunch.more than enough space to entertain 50 + people. Everyone complimented the property.already planning to book again in the future.

80th birthday/family reunion
First time using Vrbo. Could not have been better first time experience. Local family now have this place on their list of recommended places to rent for lodging for future get together for larger families with children versus a hotel room. Fair price for the property. Highly recommend it for short or long visit. Amenities were close and easy to get to. Thank you Randy for opening up this space, it made our visit and stay a pleasure for the short time we’re here. I would do it again in a heart beat.

Nice, quiet place to stay at!
It was a relaxing, quiet, ranch area. We enjoyed staying there for our trip. While it was a work in progress when we went, it was spacious enough for everyone to decompress after a long day running around. We want to thank Memphis and his friends for welcoming us every time we came to the house, ( they were the property managers dogs).

Wonderful air-conditioned home, plenty of room, nice big kitchen, VERY handicap-accessible, incredible views. Can’t say enough great things about this place. We LOVED the very FRIENDLY dogs on the property. They would hang with us inside if we wanted them to and would go back home if we shut them out. The owner does have another house on the property but leaves you alone ENTIRELY. Plenty of beds for family. The sunsets were amazing. Now I know why Montana is called Big Sky Country. Thanks Randy!! We will be back :)

Rugged Montana perfection.
We truly loved it. Plenty of room. Fifteen minutes to grocery store. Hike to awesome views right out the back door. We loved the fact that it was a working ranch. Sheets, blankets, pillows aplenty. What a porch view! Our kids were ages 9 to 18 and it was fine for them.

Family birthdays
We were there to celebrate 3 family birthdays. The house and property were exactly what we wanted for our group. The house is very nice and roomy, with plenty of space for all 14 of us. The house was fully equipped, from bedding and kitchen items. The wrap around deck was awesome. We would stay there again for sure. No problem with the owner, but many issues with VRBO.

A quiet spot for a lively bunch
This was a perfect family friendly place . The children could play outdoors without bothering neighbors ect. our family of 5 was from Idaho and our friends from Missouri were a family of 11. We had a very good time and would go back again ! The house was clean and neat .Any one loving the country ,this is the place for you !

Working Farm/Ranch Getaway
With the incredibly high cost of motels in Hamilton, our family chose to try Vrbo for the first time. When we first arrived we met Randy, the owner, working hard to make his home ready for us. Talk about energy! First, our 3 grandchildren, picked a ranch dog-Starr, Memphis,and Jack as their personal favorites! For the family to be able to roam around and enjoy the scenery made us really appreciate Montana to its' fullest. The accommodations from bedrooms to kitchen to BBQ were very satisfactory. The last night of our stay, we invited Randy to join us for a talk and he really made the stay that much more enjoyable. Thanks again Randy for sharing your home with us. Bob and Jeannine

Lovely home with gorgeous views and amenities
I stayed for over a month at this home. It has everything you would want for a family getaway and lots of room. It is on a working ranch so there’s always work going on around the property but nothing that would interfere with your stay. I would recommend a 4 wd vehicle or at least an SUV with clearance as it is on a dirt road. The owner is on site and very responsive to text/calls. The master suite is extremely comfortable and the furniture is very nice and made by the owner. This home is pet friendly, which was a big factor in my choosing it.

Strange but Interesting Place
We were there for our daughter's wedding in Hamilton. 3 of our 4 children stayed with their spouses and significant others, along with my husband and myself and 3 grand children- 11 total. The view out of the windows you see in the photo is beautiful. However, the other side of the house essentially backs up to a junk yard in the full sense of the word, There were also dogs wondering around loose on the property, seemed to be familiar with the house as they tried to get in on several occasions and my assumption is that they live in the house when it isn't being rented. It appeared that someone was living in a block cement building behind the house across the driveway and adjacent to the junk yard. The house itself was a very roomy place, basically clean and obviously can accommodate a lot of people although kitchen supplies (plates, silverware etc.) were lean so we had to hand wash many plates so we'd have enough for dinner. The downstairs, which housed two bona-fide "finished" bedrooms and a full bath, was unfinished in part, with 2X4 exposed (ie. no sheet rock) studded walls in "rooms" that contained other beds. Apparently, looking at past reviews, it has been this was for several years. One major element to note is that there were NO hair dryers, which was important as we were all preparing for a wedding. So if you need a hairdryer, bring your own. Luckily one of our daughters who drove there, brought one and we shared it. Its been my experience in past VRBO rentals that hair dryers are provided...which is important if you're flying in. The surrounding area...once you left the property and the junk yard, was BEAUTIFUL although I probably wouldn't stay there again due to the junk yard and loose dogs.

Million Dollar View
Suited 5 adults just fine Mid-October. Interior of house is great, kitchen, dining, living room, bathrooms & bedrooms. Plenty of linens and good supply of cooking items. As stated in previous reviews, there are 3 friendly dogs and a few Black Angus cows in the yard 24/7. Randy was a friendly host.

Roomy and relaxing place.
This is the second time staying at this place. Plenty of space to accommodate a large group of people. The view from the wrap around porch is beautiful and relaxing, from your morning coffee to your evening drinks. As stated in previous reviews there is FRIENDLY dogs on the property but they tend to bark in the morning as they were watching over the place, other than that they are very sweet and no issues. Would definitely recommend to others and would love to stay again. This place feels at home!

Wedding party getaway
This was the perfect property for our large group of 10. The large kitchen and upstairs living area (open concept) allowed for easy group socialization. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms to accommodate the group and we enjoyed the large wrap around porch. Some things to note: only four of the bedrooms have doors (so some couples had less privacy) and the downstairs is unfinished, so our group didn’t want to spend much time downstairs.

We enjoyed our time at Randy’s home! I could see a lot of work had been done in the basement since our first visit. Everything was clean and the we always love that there is a lot of space- both in the home and outside. My only suggestion relates to my previous suggestion. Since this is advertised as a home for up to 15, it could really use some cooking supplies for feeding a large group. I ended up buying a large pot in order to cook and just took it with me. Otherwise everything was as we hoped! Thank you!

Look Carefully before booking
The house is big and clean but lower level is unfinished (No drywall and exposed wire and pipes) Vary remote at the end of the road. Four dogs wander and bark and try to come inside, our littles were affraid. I asked the owner to keep dogs away but that only lasted for a few hours. I would not return.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at your home very much. Very spacious for our large family. Main floor was perfectly suited for lounging and entertaining. We liked the animal mounts and log furniture. Upper level loft worked well for 5 kids with 2 double beds and one twin. We couldn’t get lower level TV to work. Unfortunately walls are insulated with no sheet rock, but still fun for kids to play. Friendly dog during the day, but barked much from this home’s deck at us when leaving. We may visit again. Thanks!

Outdoorsman paradise
The house is spacious and accommodated our family well. Although the main area of the basement is unfinished, it was a great running around place for younger children. The ping pong and air hockey tables were a big hit as were the large game mounts throughout the house. The owner Randy was very pleasant and responded quickly to our needs. The front of the house with its huge windows reveal spectacular views of the Bitterroot mountains. The only downside is that the backyard is filled with broken down vehicles,etc and could use a good cleanup. The kitchen was short on a big pot and baking utensils, so bring what you’ll need. Overall, we had a great stay.

Unpleasant surroundings
The picture posted on Vrbo does not tell the whole story. What you can't see is the broken-down rusted farm equipment, junk cars, dilapidated structures, and other debris which is directly behind the structure you see in the picture. It looked like a an active meth lab was in operation there. Bringing our family to these lodgings was embarrassing. I would definitely NOT recommend this listing.

This will be a very nice secluded property when construction is completed and it is made safe.
This facility is still under construction in the basement. The facility is not as advertised (only has 4 not 5 bedrooms), but will be at some point in the future when the owner finishes the construction. pros: -The kitchen is better than we expected, with more counter space than we realized. -The finished rooms are nice. -The decorating is rustic and kind of fun, including lots and lots of antlers, a stuffed cougar, elk head and deer head. -The main floor is spacious and comfortable. The interior is nicer than you expect from seeing the exterior. -The location is nice and isolated. cons: -The property is not advertised. It currently has only 4, not 5 bedrooms and a loft. There is no door to the loft; therefore it cannot be considered a bedroom. -No air conditioning. We found it stuffy and difficult to move the cool evening/night air. The patio sliding door does not have a screen, so airflow is limited to the windows that open. The loft area was especially hot and stuffy with very limited airflow. Main floor was too warm. Downstairs was nice and cool. -The entry road does not have a sign, but google map found the home easy enough. The entry road and driveway are dirt roads and a bit ominous the first time. -The property is loaded with old vehicles and many odds and ends akin to a small junkyard. The photos posted by the owner/manager strategically avoid the mess. Probably dangerous for wandering children/teenagers. -The basement is only partially finished. At the time of our stay, the fifth room was framed, but no dry wall or door. There seems to be about a month of construction work remaining. There is lots of exposed wall without drywall downstairs (over 100 feet). A few doors are still missing. Two of the bedrooms and a bathroom are downstairs and are finished. -Upon arrival, we informed the property manager that we deemed the downstairs unsafe due to the young children in our group. There were numerous outlets and light switches and empty electrical boxes without covers and with exposed hot wires unsuitable for children. After much hemming and hawing, the owner came the next day with a few switch and outlet covers. He "covered" some of the exposed items with flimsy masking tape which leaves this pretty unsafe and pointless. There is no way to currently block off the downstairs since the door is missing a handle and has no lock.

Awesome Montana Getaway Cabin
Roomy and clean cabin with amazing views. Absolutely loved eating and having my morning coffee out on the wrap around porch. This cabin comes with all the essentials, an equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, outside grills, and plenty of clean sheets and blankets. The only downfall was the unfinished basement, but the built in heaters still made it comfy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Perfect House!
Had 14 family members come to Montana to celebrate Mom's 90th birthday. Everyone had a bed to sleep in! The house worked out perfectly for us as it had plenty of room for all the cousins to visit (all night long). Being remote, it was very quiet and peaceful and only a few minutes from town. We had a wonderful time at the Outdoorsman’s Paradise! The home is lovely with plenty of space! We had 14 people and everyone was comfortable with sleeping arrangements. Location offers a beautiful view of the Bitterroot Mountains and the valley. We all enjoyed hiking in the area, along with tubing on the river and hanging around downtown Hamilton. Water pressure was fabulous and we all loved the showers! A small suggestion- get one large pot for the house. Since it can hold 15 people it would be helpful. Had a hard time cooking for 14 using the smaller pots. But overall the house and experience were fabulous. Thank you so much!

The House was plenty big for 13 of us (6 adults and 7 kids). The attic was crazy hot, but with a couple of fans, it worked out fine. Looks like the owner is in the process of finishing the basement. Two nice bedrooms and a bathroom down there, but the main space is unfinished. It wasn’t a problem because there was plenty of space upstairs to hang out. The owner was quick to answer all of our questions, and we had a great time.

Nice getaway with a gorgeous view
We had six adults and two toddlers and the house fit all of us nicely. We didn't use the loft bcs my folks didn't want to navigate the spiral staircase and the toddlers were too little to go up and down just yet, but it's a nice little space to sleep several folks. The kitchen is spacious, the front room has amazing views, and the deck was perfect to duck under in the rain. We used the BBQ in the evenings. The only downside was that while the two bedrooms and bathroom in the basement are framed in and finished on the inside, the rest of the basement isn't. We still played a little down there, but it would have been nice to have that extra space. Randy was very nice and accommodating. Our dogs got along right well with his two adorable pups. The property is really great with room to roam, hang out, or have a bonfire (weather and burn conditions permitting). The view of the Bitterroots is unbelievable. The road can be a little rough, but even after a good rain our three cars all made it down and back. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Great property and location for us.
Great views and quiet location. I will return to this property. The owner was extremely helpful. Plenty of blankets and pillows. We need a ramp for wheelchair, the owner built one for us that worked perfectly and no additional charges. I will deathly be returning to this property when I’m in the area in need of house.

A Bitterroot Valley Ranch, Rough Dirt Road, Privacy and All, With a Great House to Lodge In
We rented Outdoorsman for five days as a place to lodge fifteen family members attending our daughter's wedding at the Teller Wildlife Refuge. Located on a working ranch, it was perfect for our family. We relaxed, partied, hiked, dined, played, danced and gathered here for most of our stay. The owner is a real person, down-to-earth, friendly and helpful, a true Bitterroot rancher. Look, this is not the Ritz-Carlton. But if you want to meet up in Montana, underneath that big Montana sky, majestic mountains in your eyes and a view that God is looking for, you'll get everything you need at the Outdoorsman.

Epic place, epic views, epic experience
This place is simply amazing and a wonderful base for family and friends to get together for a fun-filled and laid back weekend in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. The views are stunning and hiking options are close by if people want to leave the house. Kitchen is big and fun to hang out and cook. We loved everything about our weekend there and are grateful to Randy for being flexible with our needs!

Really a nice gathering space.we had all the space we needed and even served breakfast to 30 without a hitch....could use air or fans for the very hot day. The road in is in need of some work...folks in fancy cars were worried about the bumps...but when you get there it is paradise
