Voyager Rest is ideaal gelegen om te genieten van de ongelooflijke schoonheid van het wilde prachtige West Virginia! Het is gelegen op een privé-terrein van meer dan 7 hectare, in Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge; specifiek binnen Old Timberline gated resort community. Het biedt volledige privacy en toch op slechts enkele minuten van talloze buitenactiviteiten. Het adres van de accommodatie is: 949 Sand Run Road, Davis, WV 26260.

Het interieur van Voyager Rest is prachtig afgewerkt met antiek en verzamelobjecten uit de hele wereld. Het is echt uniek in zijn soort. Het omvat een grote stenen houtgestookte open haard, eiken balken, antiek hardhout en leistenen vloeren, stenen douches en granieten werkbladen uitgerust met handgemaakte koperen wastafels. Twee kajaks zijn beschikbaar voor gasten; één bij elk meer (zie oriëntatie).

Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge was het 500e National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) dat in de Verenigde Staten werd opgericht. Het toevluchtsoord behoudt een vochtige vallei met unieke wetlands en hooglanden op een relatief grote hoogte in het Allegheny-gebergte.

Spectacular home!
This rental home far exceeded any other place I have stayed with VRBO. The home is filled with antiques, varied cultural items from the owner's world travels, well appointed features throughout the home and a restful, peaceful atmosphere throughout. The location is perfect--lots of privacy, beautiful views of both the valley and the mountains and great seating to see wildlife, sunsets and nature. The owner was prompt to answer questions and stay in communication. Overall this home is a 5 star rating and will not disappoint!

Blue’s 5th birthday weekend trip
This trip was amazing! We honestly could have just stayed at the cabin the whole time there was so much to see and enjoy. It felt like we traveled the world just being in the cabin with all the unique decor. The hot tub was perfect and super clean. The stone double shower was like nothing we have ever seen. The fire place was so relaxing and cozy and had plenty of wood to keep it going. Jim gave some amazing recommendations for black water falls and Seneca rock hiking. Our dogs had a blast hiking there and on the property. The beds and linens were immaculate. It was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. All the appliances were top notch from the kitchen to the laundry. The views from the deck were spectacular. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Worth every penny!

Pure Bliss
I rented Voyager Rest along with a group of family and friends, some of which have been traveling to the Canaan Valley for 20+ years. I myself have visited a good many times over the past decade. Voyager Rest is hands down one of the best cabins you can rent in all of the valley. The places itself is amazing and perfectly curated, and the views are amazing. As if the cabin wasn’t already fantastic enough, the host, Jim, was genuinely the nicest and most attentive host I’ve come across. My group ran into some last-minute logistical issues the day before check-in, so I messaged Jim to ask about an early check-in. He called me within minutes to tell me that we could check in as early as we like, and also provided some info about the property and the amazing sound system in the cabin. Jim then proceeded to call me one or two more times to tell me about a few other things with the cabin, and also told us we could check out as late as we wished because no one was renting it the day we left. Start to finish, an all-around amazing experience. Already planning a return trip!

Overall our stay was awesome. Tons of wildlife to see and the house in the woods was the perfect location for us. The hot tub at night was super fun. The house is filled with fun objects and history filled antiques. The only downfall was the check in process which was no fault to Vrbo or the host. It was simply the employees of the check-in gate did not want to help or seem to care that the guests before us wrote the wrong check out date on their paper and would not let us past. Jim and his son were awesome and quickly got it resolved and we enjoyed our weekend. Would definitely go back and stay again! Thanks Jim
