Once you get through the stairs, the location is nice. I booked this location through VRBO, the listing says dog fees are included but it’s $20 per dog for additional dogs, also shows no stairs nor is there mention of a 2nd Floor. The Vacasa listing I was sent a link to after my stay says it’s on the 2nd floor, however that down plays the stairs still. It’s 4 flights up which is 36 steps up splintered wood steps, no elevator and on a down pour raining day, it can be an experience to navigate luggage, groceries, water, a person with mobility issues and a blind dog. Taking 2 dogs to go potty, it added 72 steps each time 2 elderly dogs had to go potty or take a walk. The beaches in the area do not allow dogs. The day we departed it was a down pour day and I personally went up and down 25 times to pack the vehicle. That’s 1800 steps I did alone for that one function. So just mentioning it’s on the 2nd floor is a down play on Vacasa’s description but it’s not on VRBO at all. I’d call it the 3rd floor.
When we checked in, the security gate was a bit creepy about requesting dog tag numbers and dates for rabie vaccinations etc and collecting the additional $10 fee per dog. This is not for Vacasa but Sand Piper Cove creating this policy. Their security gate ppl did not know how to handle this it felt like it was not apart of normal operation.
