Family wedding
Great location for our events and family proximity. Knowing there were 3 flights of stairs would’ve been helpful. My husband has bad knees and back. Otherwise met our need and loved the beach access.

Once you get through the stairs, the location is nice. I booked this location through VRBO, the listing says dog fees are included but it’s $20 per dog for additional dogs, also shows no stairs nor is there mention of a 2nd Floor. The Vacasa listing I was sent a link to after my stay says it’s on the 2nd floor, however that down plays the stairs still. It’s 4 flights up which is 36 steps up splintered wood steps, no elevator and on a down pour raining day, it can be an experience to navigate luggage, groceries, water, a person with mobility issues and a blind dog. Taking 2 dogs to go potty, it added 72 steps each time 2 elderly dogs had to go potty or take a walk. The beaches in the area do not allow dogs. The day we departed it was a down pour day and I personally went up and down 25 times to pack the vehicle. That’s 1800 steps I did alone for that one function. So just mentioning it’s on the 2nd floor is a down play on Vacasa’s description but it’s not on VRBO at all. I’d call it the 3rd floor. When we checked in, the security gate was a bit creepy about requesting dog tag numbers and dates for rabie vaccinations etc and collecting the additional $10 fee per dog. This is not for Vacasa but Sand Piper Cove creating this policy. Their security gate ppl did not know how to handle this it felt like it was not apart of normal operation.

A beautiful home - kitchen well equipped/ 2 coffee pots Reg. Drip & Keurig. Bathrooms were very nice with plenty of towel. Living area was nice and comfortable. Dining table was small but a problem.. outside back deck was amazing and plenty of little tables and chairs.

DIRTY & So disappointed…
We frequent Destin & were excited to book our first stay at Sandpiper Cove. The location of the property can’t be beat… and if traveling with a boat/ jet ski it’s by far the best choice. The unit we rented however, was so disappointing. It was filthy dirty. Stained carpet, filthy tile grout & the bathrooms were disgusting. Even the walls were dirty.

We over all enjoyed our stay. There were a ton of stairs and I have a bad knee. I was pretty dusty over all. Everything else was clean. Would have been nice to have some tupperwear.

Not a very pleasant arrival experience
Property was clean, and roomy. Bathrooms could definitely use an upgrade. Very dated. Beds very comfortable. Drove six hours from Nashville, and was told by check in staff we were not allowed to enter the complex because he didn’t find our confirmation on his list. Told we had to park across the street and contact Vacasa and provide verbal proof, even though we had received confirmation from them in text and email the night before.

The condo was very nice and clean. A couple things I would point out are , the toilet in the master bedroom ran constantly. It obviously needs to be fixed. Also, just something minor, the shower curtain in the master bath does have mold all over the bottom of it, nothing that would keep me from staying there again just something to point out to may be replace. The place was very nice and quiet and we did a lot of relaxing . Enjoyed our stay

Very clean and nicely furnished home. Bring salt & pepper, sugar and tho gs that may be provided at other places. They are not here. Huge deck overlooking pickle ball courts. Everyone has dogs so it was nice to see others walking theirs around the property. The beach has the best sand and color of water around.

Nice place, clean and comfy with nautical style. Not for those with challenges with climbing stairs, it’s a third floor access with no elevator. There’s a nice restaurant conveniently located on the property within a short walk from the condo, Lagniappe. The food is a little pricey but outstanding. Just wish there were even distant views of the beach but it is at least within walking distance.

The property itself is really nice and well-maintained, but the unit that we stayed in could use some cleaning. The ceiling fans had lots of dust on them, plus we saw several live roaches in the kitchen area. The mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced as it is worn and the sleepers are forced to sleep and the middle of the bed because previous usage. Overall we still had a great time and the location met our needs. I suggest that whoever books at these condominiums inquire about if the unit is an upper or lower one, because those of us that were over 55 found that going up and down 4 flights of stairs was a bit much. If I would have known that ahead of time, I would have made a different choice. I definitely would stay at Sandpiper Cove again, only next time I would stay in a different unit. One on a lower level for sure.

Awesome Beach Retreat
A wonderful location and amenities. Short 8 min walk from property to private beach across street. Very quiet, clean, and restful! A few issues in unit such as ice maker broken, master bath toilet needs small repair to keep from running after flushing, but overall GREAT place. We did not use pool but it looked wonderful and many outdoor activities as well. Close to everything and easy access.

The stay started off a little rough bc the master bathroom and bedroom clearly needed more cleaning. There was hair on bathroom floor and carpet didn’t like it had been vacuumed. After we cleaned it up ourselves, the rest of the stay was great! We walked to the beach each day easily. We also drove a couple times and there was plenty of parking. We were disappointed to learn dogs are not allowed on any beaches around here. We really enjoyed the view from the balcony bc it overlooks tennis courts and we were usually entertained watching people play tennis or pickle ball.

Great Location to enjoy the beach of Destin
Overall, we were very satisfied with the property. While the building that we were in was older and some items needed updating/replacing, it was perfect for 4 adults and 4 dogs to have a relaxing vacation at the beach. It was about a 5-6 minute walk away. We did not use any of the pools. The tennis courts looked great and while the food at the restaurant was very good, we were appalled that none of the hostesses/servers had on face masks during the COVID-19 start-up process. It also didn't appear that the restaurant was sitting their patrons at 50% either. Luckily, the 2 times we ate there, we managed to snag a table in the back corner away from others. Having the private beach meant slightly less packed people, and most were fairly good at setting up at least 6 feet away from you. But the overall attitude of guests seemed to make you think that there was never any COVID-19 issues. We used extra towels/chairs placed around us to set up a buffer area at the beach. Overall, everyone was very friendly... Do bring extra dishwashing soap and laundry soap if you're there for a week or more...they only supply 2 uses.
