The check in process was easy, and everything was clean and extremely well maintained. The bed was fantastic to sleep on. We loved it so much we booked an extra night! It's a short drive to St. Andrews and a number of farm shops and other small towns. Well worth the stay!'

'Buckhood cottage had everything needed, clean and functional. The kitchen was a good size with the best view to look at while washing up. Beds were comfy and slept very well. Only issue was the shower, very low pressure and runs scorching hot and freezin cold. Overall a very good stay. Xxx'

We prefer the self catering rather than the bed and breakfast type places because we are jet lagged and tend to sleep in. We also don’t eat a large breakfast. 'We loved this location and thought the cottage was super cute. The fridge was dirty upon arrival and we messaged them via chat to let them know but they never messaged back, so we just cleaned it ourselves. The cottage is old which gives it character, but it could be cleaned better. There were many cobwebs and bugs in the cottage which wasn’t ideal. Overall, we would recommend the location but advise the owners to clean it better.'

The advert did not make it clear that the cottage is next to a road of fast flowing traffic, and that parking is next to the road, which is dangerous for getting a dog from the car to the cottage. There are no dog walks nearby. The inclusion of the hot tub drew us in, but we were not going to pay an extra £100 to use it.
