Slecht bed. Hebben de tweede nacht een ander hotel geboekt. Vreemde lucht aan het beddengoed en handdoeken. Zeer gedateerd.

Vriendelijk personeel
Vriendelijk personeel! kamer voor 3 personen was aan de krappe kant en bedden waren matig. Matrassen met behoorlijke kuilen 1 lattebodem die uit elkaar viel. Ontbijt redelijk. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding vind ik dit hotel te duur voor wat er geleverd wordt.

Erg mooi klassiek hotel
Mooie ruime kamers, klassiek ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Alleen de matrassen waren niet top.

A short stay with a difference
Quirky, 'Fawlty Towers' - like hotel with rabbit-warren of rooms but very clean and very helpful staff. Didn't eat there so cannot comment on breakfast but excellent restaurant across the road for evening meals. Only 10 mins from airport by taxi, and 20 mins from city centre by bus. Would definitely recommend to people who are fed up with Holiday Inn's etc.

Nice Wee Hotel on Outskirts of Edinburgh
Stayed here one night as was in Edinburgh to see a friend's band play. Wasn't in the hotel much but the room was nicer than expected for the price, well worth the money. I didn't manage to get a good sleep but I think that's down to my own vicissitudes. Location well connected to city centre through the buses. Room was quiet enough as was facing the back garden. Receptionist was nice too. Would probably stay again yeah.

On the main road to airport across street from a bus stop on main line. Room was good size with private bathroom and comfortable beds. Walls are not very soundproof, it sounded like the room next to ours was in our room. Friends had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs - no lift in hotel.

The place overall was a bit rundown and not at the level I had been expecting. It was more just an ok bed to stay in on your way someplace else, and not luxurious at all.

Nightmare stay!
There was a party ALL NIGHT in a room nearby. (I think there are three rooms on the landing) Screaming, shouting and singing.

We have to wait 30 minutes outside for getting the keys, the day was very colder, Moreover, no hospitality. Not prefer to stay this place, the price they are collecting is high, the same price will get good hotel

The hotel rooms are tired and in need of upgrading. We only seen any staff when we arrived and when we left. Check in was hectic with only 1 woman trying to show people to their rooms. There was no breakfast available due to staff shortage. I would not be in a hurry to return. My daughter is booked in for December but I will speak to her as she would be very disappointed.

Hotel booked did not have free parking as advertised. Transferred to a sister hotel. Bell to get into reception not working, one phone number not in service, finally got through on a mobile. Paid for parking. Room with window blinds only so daylight streaming in from 4am. No aircon or ability to open the windows.

Please let me highlight that we never advertise free on site parking, an it says very clear on the booking platform: "No on-site parking Free off-site parking nearby" Our staff kindly offered you our sister hotel where parking is available at an extra cost, which you accepted. I am very disappointed to hear that you didn`t have a comfortable stay in Cumberland Hotel but if you had any issue opening the window you could have asked Our staff they are always happy to help. Once again I am sorry that we were unable to provide the guest experience that we pride ourselves on and trust that you enjoyed your visit to Edinburgh and had a pleasant journey home.

Danish friends found it homely in a good situation with the possibility of going pleasant walks around nice houses. No lift and steep stairs to get in and within the building makes it unsuitable for any one with mobility issues

Fringe Festival
Enjoyable 2 night stay while visiting the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, considering the hotel prices sky rocket during this period, this hotel was great value on price.
