Om te beginnen is het een prachtig hotel, perfect gelegen om de hoek van The Royal Mile. Helaas was door werkzaamheden de brug een grote bouwplaats, maar daar kan het hotel niets aan doen. Het hotel ademt klasse en oogt heel statig. Jammer dat dat heel soms een klein beetje wegviel. De ontbijtzaal oogt nogal basic maar het ontbijt en de keuze was meer dan prima. Wij hadden één van de Deluxe kamers welke nog niet in een nieuw jasje was gestoken. Deze was ruim, oogde klassiek en had prachtig uitzicht op het Balmore hotel. De badkamer mistte wel een toiletborstel en het plafond leek lekkagevlekken te hebben. Klein smetje op een toch wel prachtige badkamer. Ook raden wij een bezoekje aan de inhouse cinema aan, The Scotsman Picturehouse. Een knusse theaterzaal met mooie lederen stoelen. Je betaalt best wel wat geld voor een kaartje, maar wat ons betreft is het wel een onvergetelijke ervaring. Een lunch of diner in het Grand Cafe is ook zeker aan te raden. Een prachtige eetgelegenheid waar je je even in The Roaring Twenties waant.

This place is marvellous. Would recommend. I would have liked to know more about any ghosts in the property, but to be fair, I didn’t ask anyone who works there. Breakfast was delightful, lovely room. Great amenities. Lovely staff. Just a great place to stay.

We were Very disappointed with stay and room - room has a brick wall in window and very dark and musty air even though we booked a 400 dollar room. I don’t recommend anyone stay here. Maintenance person confirmed no WiFi works in an entire area of hotel ever. Beds were not changed to twin either after confirming to do. Worst service. Seems to be penalized for booking thru Expedia as others who paid same got better rooms. Area around the hotel is also a mess.

Right in the heart of the city. Beautiful hotel, great location. A bit of construction in the area but did not affected the stay. Parking not available at the hotel but the hotel staff provided a place very easy, reliable and near the hotel. Hotel restaurant had delicious food. Overall very happy with my stay.

Great location for those to enjoy Edinburgh by train or foot. Great staff who helped with laundry, reservations and more. Quiet room. Good blacklit drapes. Love having drinks and supper down at the restaurant.

The Scotsman was right across the street from the train station making it easy for two with women with a lot of luggage. The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious. The food was delicious and was available until late morning. The staff was amazing, and the concierge even walked us to the train station to help us find the right train to our next destination.

Great location just off the Royal Mile. Bed was comfy and bathroom was modern and clean. But the service was just average. I was checked into an occupied room and didn't get much of an apology. Carpet and upholstery on the chair and bench in the room were dirty and stained. Service in the Grand Cafe was poor. Breakfast service staff were lovely and free breakfast was nice. Overall a bit disappointed and I won't be back. Not worth the price.

Very basic room, not in the least like the twin room expected from your website. Hot buffet breakfast very unappealing with tray of fried eggs hard and rubbery. Scrambled eggs a slightly sweet taste All told very disappointed in our stay. Certainly not worth the £300 plus . Expect more than this.

Om personalen varit vänligare och mer hjälpsam skulle jag ge toppbetyg, men det allmänna bemötandet drar ner betyget avsevärt. Oredan vid frukosten (kaffemaskiner som behövde rengöras vilket personalen ignorerade) samt avsaknaden av något så elementärt som ost bör också nämnas. Att sedan bli inträngd i ett hörn i hissen när personal pressade sig på med en brickvagn, och ytterligare en anställd klämde sig in på nästa våning är inte gott bemötande av hotellgäster.

This was a great hotel. Centrally located. Across the street from Waverly Station and you can walk to most anything in the city. Staff was very nice and the rooms and common areas were kept clean. The restaurant had a good selection of classic Scottish fare and reasonably priced.

I came to Scotland to celebrate my 50th birthday and when the front desk found out they sent chocolates to our room and a bottle of champagne! They made my week and my birthday so very special and we will for sure stay here again!

Excellent accommodations. The staff was friendly, prompt and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and there were other options within walking distance. The property is in old town where history took place. The train station is just across the street and that was very convenient for those travelers coming by train. The only item to note is that the nearby bridge is being reconstructed so there is some congestion from the construction site; however, we did not hear it from our room

Room was fabulous , Views of the castle and princess street. Ordered room service , meals were excellent . Only problem was finding access to the Market Street entrance , due to work on the north bridge street. Suggestion would be to advise the postal code of that enterance,or a nearby business on market street . Great stay , have stayed our last four trips to Edinburgh.

Beautiful rooms and the perfect spot to enjoy Edinburgh. All three rooms we had were very comfortable and designed lovely.

Easy access from railway station ,entrance to hotel on same level as road via doorway to lift. Friendly and helpful staff through out the hotel

I went to stay in this hotel with my mum for valentines and in our room they put some chocolates in are room and Theo’s was a people were nice and I can wait to come back. I had so much fun. Zara-rose, 8 years old.

Great hotel which is conveniently located opposite Waverley Train station. Staff all very friendly and polite. All the visitor attractions nearby.
