I had two separate reservations here and used all the characters in my first review. I had a few things to add- The staff at the desk were very good. Max in particular took time to explain everything we needed to know about hikes, restaurants, etc. In my first review I noted that at this price I expected to be comfortable. The mattress in our room was old or poor quality, and I had the worst 4 nights sleep in our entire first month in Argentina. Under the front door, you could see daylight, so it was like a bug highway. As I noted in my other review, due to the awkward and inefficient layout of the room, my husband’s suitcase had to stay on the floor at the front door. Every day I was looking at the bugs trying to be sure none were bedbugs. The room was really warm and stuffy, and even on a day with horrible winds, we had to keep the windows opened a little to have some air circulation. When the wind is bad in El Chalten- it is without mercy. Another reason for a terrible night sleep. The bungalows were built into the side of another building, and we heard every footstep in the unit above/adjacent to us. I left really surprised that this place was rated as highly as it was- in many dozens of bookings I’ve made on Hotels.com, there are very few where expectations based on other reviews and reality were so different.

A disappointing stay
We stayed here four nights total. It was not horrible but definitely not a place I would stay again for the price. When we are paying over $200USD per night I hope to be comfortable. First issue, it is advertised as breakfast included and we read prior reviews that said how the breakfast was so good, they give you eggs, etc. Well, in our room there was a tiny kitchenette and they informed us on checkin that our breakfast was provided in the room. They provided very low quality food, no protein. Dry bread. The same sweet pasty every day. Some typical yogurt here very thin and full of sugar. So we had to go to the store to buy eggs and better food, and prepare it every day and then hand wash our dishes too. This took an extra 30 minutes of each morning where we thought we paid for a hotel that would provide a typical breakfast service. Nothing in our reservation indicated we were somehow not allowed to have the same breakfast as the prior good reviews implied. Second, the entry area to the bungalows is not finished with a proper walkway. It is a mud path where you have to step over wooden pallets carrying heavy bags. Third, while the room was large, the storage and layout was horrible where there was no room for a second suitcase except right at the front door. They have the little kitchen table attached to the wall, if it could be moved then there would be a way to make this more comfortable. There was no where in the large bathroom to store toiletry bags.

We were greeted by the sweetest, and most friendly staff. We were provided a great breakfast spread in our room, and given advice for how to spend our day in town. Great bed, good space in the room, felt safe and comfortable here. Would highly recommend staying here!!!

Beautiful property!! Sofia and Andrea were very helpful. One of the best accommodations we’ve stayed on our Chile/Argentina trip. I wish we had more days but we’ll definitely be back and stay here again. Breakfast was also great and they’ll give you eggs which was not common in most places in Patagonia. Our room was very spacious and has a big window.

Simple accommodations, clean, modest breakfast. One complaint is the water spills out of the shower flooding the bathroom. An easy fix would be to add a shower curtain. Otherwise, we had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The person at checkin was very helpful orienting us, giving restaurant & trail recommendations

Cet hôtel a été une grosse deception. L insonorisation est tres mauvaise, on avait l impression que les voisins etaient dans notre chambre, on les entendait parler et on pouvait meme leur repondre.... reveillés à 1h du matin par d autres clients qui regagnaient leur chambre et à 2h par ceux d une chambre voisine par les cris de leurs ebats sexuels... on a fait mieux pour dormir pendant des vacances... Le wifi est mauvais et le prix à 130€/nuit pour la plus petite chambre est exorbitant. A part la proprete et la gentillesse du personnel, je n ai rien trouve de positif à cet hotel

Bonjour, je ne connais pas son nom car il n'apparaît pas dans le commentaire, mais je comprends que si j'étais avec des enfants, le prix que je paie pour la chambre est pour plus de 2 personnes, je suis désolé si j'entends des bruits gênants et je suis désolé de ne pas l'avoir dit à l'époque pour pour pouvoir vous aider, dès l'insonorisation de l'hôtel vraiment, je suis désolée mais je comprends que c'est la bonne mais tous les clients se plaindraient et ce n'est pas comme ça. Quoi qu'il en soit, je réitère mes excuses si ce n'était pas confortable.

Las instalaciones son nuevas, limpias, todo muy ordenado. La atención muy buena, principalmente por parte de sus dueños. Única sugerencia : mucho ruido, nula insonorización de las instalaciones lo q hace que todo el tiempo se escuchen golpes de puertas, ruidos en los pasillos etc. Mucho depende del comportamiento de los huéspedes, pero tal vez mejorar las instalaciones en ese sentido ayudaría a evitar ruidos molestos

We were super comfortable here and the staff were extremely helpful and flexible. The town is small, but still this is a nice location and close to some of the best trailheads and our favorite restaurants. It was a nice place to rest after big days, and a nice place to kill time when the weather was too bad to go out. Highly recommend this spot.

The room was so very hot all night. The service desk make sure the heaters were turned off but there was only one small window for ventilation that did not open a lot and we couldn't sleep because the room was so stuffy. Terrible value for the money

phil, lamento el calor que pasó pero es un lugar en dndee normalmente hace frío, y al venir esos dias de calor bajamos la calefacción pero el calor del edificio tardo en irse

Notre cabanes a eu un problème technique, le chauffe eau était décroché, donc pas d’eau chaude. Le lendemain nous avons été surclassés dans une cabanes de 4 personnes avec beaucoup plus de place. Très bon mais trop court séjour à El Chalten.

Super freundlicher Empfang, sehr hilfsbereit. Gaben sowohl tolle Tipps für die Trekking-Touren als auch wo man am besten Essen gehen kann usw. Die Cabañas sind mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht.

We arrived pretty late, owner made sure to stay in contact with us so he could be there to check us in. The cabins were very charming, floor was a bit creaky, but no big deal. Breakfast (cereal, milk, yogurt, eggs, etc.) was delivered to our cabin each day, pretty fresh. Cabin was cleaned diligently, laundry service was great. All in all a pretty cozy place, would recommend.
