Worst Experience Ever
I usually never write any reviews, however I needed to write one after my awful experience I had at this hotel. First of all: the owners of my accommodation received me really well. However, when I tried to get a taxi, the owner (Namir) got me a taxi for an absurd price. At first, I thought the prices were normal as Namir was very kind to me. Later I found out that he charged me tons or euro's more than a regular taxi costs! He was clearly scamming me. My advice: Try to find a taxi yourself, never ask Namir as he will charge you dubble the price! Another issue I had was the issue with the sheets. The sheets were renewed just ONE TIME. The floor was never cleaned, the hairs in the bathroom were never removed and the cleaner herself was VERY rude. Another problem I was facing was noise disturbance. There were some guests over who thought it was normal to sing, dance, scream and do whatever they'd like in the middle of the night and none of the owners did something about it. Also, the building next to the accommodation is getting renovated so prepare to wake up at 6 in the morning! Breakfast was okay untill the cook (who is also the cleaner) got annoyed after a couple of days and literally THREW my breakfast on my plate. She was really rude and didn't speak a single word of English. The only good thing about this hotel was the boy who worked there named 'Hicham'. He was very polite and did his best to make you feel comfortable.

Hi Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. concerning the price of the minivan was over than 5 hours with you show you around Fes city the price was 80 Euros. Please, this is not a tone of euros!!! Second, the room gets clean every day. I am so sorry because you are a very conservative Muslim family that why you can support to see other guests with you. Please remember this is a guesthouse open to everybody who can show respect to other culture and other religion. Plaese you forgot to tell the truth about you didn't pay your city tax for 7 days+drinks. Thank you so much for your help as a Muslim family/ Honesty is my best policy. Kind regards, Namir

Van 13 tot en met 16 maart 2019 hier verbleven. De heer Namir en zijn vrouw zijn supervriendelijk, ontzettend attent en behulpzaam. Hij doet echt alles om het naar je zin te maken. Accommodatie ligt aan de rand van de medina. Lekker ontbijt, en avondeten was subliem. De vrouw van Namir kan erg lekker koken. Onze kamer was erg Sfeervol, schoon en erg mooi. Wij bevelen deze accommodatie van harte aan. Groetjes uit Nederland.

This was one of my favorite lodging places I’ve ever been in my 17 countries of travel. The location is perfect, the property is gorgeous & the owner and staff are top notch. You’re right outside the Medina, but only 10 minutes from the train station. Breakfast is delicious, and you can add any service you may need. We had a large quantity of dirty clothes upon arrival and for a very affordable fee they got all of our clothes cleaned and returned to us. Can’t recommend this place enough and if we return to Fes, I would choose this dar again. Perfect!

Wonderful quiet riad with the most genuine attentive hosts. This place is spotlessly clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, shower is great, and just a beautiful interior overall. The host family makes the MOST delicious dinners - definitely stay in and eat here! They also arranged for our private driver for a day tour to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes - a very good day despite the somewhat dreary weather! Absolutely beautiful place and family. Highly recommend!

Sehr freundliche Familie als Gasthausinhaber, die Gegend ist okay und die Altstadt (Medina) zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Gasthaus würde ich jedem empfehlen. Die Zimmer und Flur/Treppen sind sehr schmal und wirtschaftlich gebaut. Vielen lieben Dank für die Gastfreundlichkeit.

Excellent property (an exceptionally well-done modernized 18th Cent. dar) in a good location and with top-notch, as-friendly-as-it-gets service. Can drive to within a very short and easy walking distance and then park only a little farther away. Good breakfast, too - even includes eggs! Would stay there again.

Namir and his wife are warm and excellent hosts in this beautiful dar. All of the staff are friendly, kind and helpful. The food (breakfast and dinner) are excellent. Let Namir (who is passionate about visitors having a great experience) arrange a certified guide for you to visit the medina in Fez. The guide he arranged for our tour was an extremely knowledgeable native of Fez who shared the history, the culture, and the artisanal traditions of Fez. We witnessed other guides steering their groups mostly to shops where they seemed to know the owners. The dar is immaculate and there are beautiful, hand crafted tiles throughout. The wifi is excellent.

The owner took good care of us. We were extremely happy with this Riad, as it was close to everywhere within the Medina. Some nice restaurants in the area as well, a walking distance, actually. Royalty Treatment
Owner was awesome, took me in his own personal car to an authentic Moroccan restaurant since I did not know my way around. Room was clean and so quiet. The free breakfast setting and service was a royalty treatment. Will definitely stay in this hotel my next trip to Fes.

Séjour extraordinaire !
Nous venons de terminer notre séjour au DAR D’OR et c’était vraiment extraordinaire. Tous est très bien: l’accueil est très familial on se sent chez nous, prêt à toujours nous rendre service. Même ce matin, le taxi commandé a eu un accident et le propriétaire nous a accompagné à la gare et c’est même arrêté au carrefour et de il est venu avec nous pour acheter des sandwiches. Les mets prépares sur place sont délicieux (nous avons dîne tous les soirs). Le propriétaire parle parfaitement français et la maison est historique et à était rénovée dans le respect des traditions avec beaucoup de goûts. Enfin, Il est très placé dans la médina avec accès voiture possible. Nous recommandons fortement ce lieu et la famille !

Do Yourself a Favor and STAY HERE!
An absolutely fantastic place to stay! I travel constantly for work, and have rarely encountered a more warm and helpful staff than those at Dar D'Or. The details here are thoughtful, the rooms incredibly comfortable, and Namir and his family are warm and helpful. Beyond coordinating transportation and guides, when my husband didn't feel well Namir immediately accompanied us to a pharmacy and explained our situation in Arabic so we could get medication. The place is also easy to find, quiet, and a quick walk from the chaos of the medina. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our stay at Dar D’or Fes was absolutely incredible. Communication prior to check-in was great – the owner Namir is very responsive to calls and messages. Upon arriving, we were blown away by the service provided to us. Dar D’or Fes is a family run business that goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Namir was always open to answer our questions about Fes and was very detailed when explaining what to look out for when hiring tour guides, fair prices for taxis, etc. He even arranged same day laundry service for us! Without a doubt, the highlight of our stay was the dinner, which was made upon request, a home-cooked meal prepared by Namir’s wife. This meal was by far the best food we had in Morocco, and among the best meals I’ve ever had. Do not miss out on the opportunity to eat dinner here at least once. If you are looking for a hotel/riad to stay in Fes, look no further!

Authentic, faultless boutique experience
We stated for 4 nights in a beautiful, quiet, well appointed and ever so tastefully decorated room. The bed was superb and shower the best in our travels in Morocco so far. The riad is very well located just inside the medina. We found the story of the 3 year renovation fascinating. The guesthouse even has top quality solar panels from Australia! Nahim and his family were wonderful hosts. They couldn't have been more attentive and helpful and made us feel special. His wife prepared an excellent generous breakfast. His daughter worked really hard looking after all the guests too. We’d highly recommend Dar D’Or for eitger a short or long stay in Fes.

Dar D'or Fes the best of Fes.
Dar D'or Fes has everything you might want from a hotel. It is in excellent location, walking distance to everything, it's squeaky clean, air conditioning blows winter cold air (if you need it), room is comfortably big, bathroom as well. And on top of it all, the couple who owns this place are the sweetest people you can meet. And they serve breakfast and cook dinner on order that far exceeds you expectation. They are 12 out of 10. Dar D'or Fes is surely the pride of hotel business in Morocco.

De tudo , desde o atendimento atencioso do Namir antes de eu chegar, me informando de tudo. Foi buscar as malas na rua, nos recebeu com muito carinho, o Riad é lindo, tudo renovado, café da manhã muito bom, almoço e jantar otimos. Namir e sua esposa se desdobram para agradar mais e mais, sao excepcionais! Adorei tudo! Super indico!

J’ai réservé pour le jour même , arrivé à 15:30. Le réceptionniste m’attendait et m’a accueillit avec un café et un sourire le temps que mes bagages soient montés dans ma chambre. J’ai eu le choix de la chambre (chacune à un prénom et non pas un numéro). Le réceptionniste m’a fait un tour rapide du quartier. La literie très confortable. Le Riyad est magnifique, il y a du zellige partout et beaucoup de lumière. Belle terrasse en toiture. Établissement exceptionnel

Perfection
We had such a fantastic experience at this riad and would recommend it to anyone visiting Fez. Great hospitality, delicious food prepared by our hosts and valuable advice for tours. There’s really no need to book tours online without knowing who they are, just ask Namir and he’ll hook you up with the best.

Perfect Riad Experience
Dar D'or is the perfect place to stay in Fes! The location is excellent, not in the Medina where you get lost, but right next to it with clear signs that lead you to the door, and very close to the Blue Gate. The room was exactly as pictured, breakfast was excellent, the rooftop perfect for sunset. The thing that sets it apart are the hosts who will make you feel so welcomed, and help with anything you need- they made me tea for sunset on the roof, printed our boarding tickets for our flight, and ordered us a taxi to the airport, just truly above and beyond expectations. Please don't miss this wonderful gem when in Fes!
