Our stay was ok, but not my cup of tea. People at the reception aren't always helpful as it really depends who you're talking to. From one of the staff members we got a roadmap when asking for nice hiking routes ("just walk on the yellow roads, that should be fine" she said). Luckily we got a proper hiking map when we asked someone else.
The room is fine, but the beds not that comfortable. Store all your food in the fridge or else an army of tiny ants will come for it.
Hotel is located next to a really sad shopping mall without any actual shops (a very good Indian restaurant though!), and a construction site where another massive hotel is being built. I guess the last nice village in the south of Gran Canaria is doomed to be taken over by ugly hotels and mass tourism as well. Should be fine if you're into that, but otherwise head north, west, or center.
