Worst Experience Ever & Atrocious Customer service
It was our anniversary and we decided a reasonable stay in GY for a week. I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life by booking at Belvedere Guest house and this is why: 1. The carpet in the room was so faded and never been cleaned 2. The bed linen when slept on gave an itchy sensation all the time (I am guessing there were bed bugs) 3. Basic amenity of warm water for bathing.The water from the shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot. A guy came to fix it after 3 calls to CS and fixed it for 5 mins. After he left, it was set back to square one. 4. There was no one to look after the guests at the premises. If there is a problem you need to call CS and wait for 30 mins for someone to show up or a call back . 5. The walls were stained and door knob was taped,the closet had no knob,the wallpaper came out at certain places,the toilet space was so crunched and very uncomfortable,the water from tap was awful. 6. Room was booked for 4 days,but Day 2 I decided to vacate (infact one Day 1 but since it was evening already I stayed up to next day 10 am). I got a refund of 40% of the total amount (which I am so grateful for). Now the atrocious part, the customer service kept calling me (6 times) to inform me about the refund and asked about my exp, I told them I was not happy at all and will leave reviews on the web, one of them was very sarcastic "even after we give you a refund,you will leave a bad review". Who the hell is she to tell me this. It was H&H hotels chain CS.

Clearly the management are not taking previous reviews seriously as we stayed this weekend and saw no evidence of high standards at all. Broken shower bracket, dirty bathroom, bathroom door handle held on with tape, vinyl wallpaper peeling off the mouldy walls, the only window that could be opened has a broken handle, pillows might as well not be there, no fan, no hairdryer….. all the same complaints as reviews written almost a year ago so clearly no cares given. No doubt the response will be the same as we have read here- apologise and ask us to email… what’s the point?! With the WhatsApp message at 3am!!! to both phones and the repeated phone calls interrupting our evening meal and again our lunch the following day- if the management are so concerned that we are happy perhaps have someone on site instead of a call centre and make some effort to put right the appalling state of the accommodation!

The place stank as we walked in of damp, you could write your name in the dust on the stair banister, the whole plce was dated and filthy! The bedroom window opened inwards across the bed! And then didnt actually close! No fan! The shower came out so slowly it was almost impossible to use! And the noise from other guests was ridiculous!! We got absolutely no sleep!!!

It was not situated where we thought on arrival we couldn't get into property and had to call a london number which took 45 minutes and on 2nd day the main door wouldn't open even with code this caused another call to london at our cost etc so it ruined our stay

For less than 30 quid a night , cant complain too much, it clean, had all the basics, larger tv than a lot of places, ensuite shower, toilet, more drink sachets etc. Than other places. Perfect if you want to crash out after work or a night out, dont expect a love palace.

When I booked this hotel I initially had to make two separate bookings due to a personal error of forgetting a day on my trip. When I arrived I found the room to be in worse shape than I expected, although for such a cheap price I was not expecting much. The bedding had hair on it from a previous guest, the shower head wall attachment was broken and the water pressure was almost nonexistent, making for showers that would take 30 minutes just to clean your body, the wardrobe was lopsided, the bathroom door off its hinges, the pillow was as thin as a folded shirt, and they give you one towel to dry your body, hands and to use as a shower mat. I told them about the shower not giving off pressure and they said they would look at it when I was in next but that never happened, leaving me to have to attempt to shower in the sink. For the pillow; I folded up a jacket to sleep on. I also received a total of 6 phone calls from them over the course of 3 days. First asking when I’d arrive to check in, then asking how the room was and finally asking how my stay was. Due to booking two bookings, they did this two times. I ended up blocking the number as I was receiving a call every 8 hours. The check in process should have been simple but when I arrived both the keys in the two lockboxes were gone. A guest took them with them, leaving me to have to call and wait for someone to let me in. The next day I was locked out again because the code was changed and I wasn’t informed.

Booked this room as a last minute accommodation and it was at a really good price, the room was small but I was surprised to see that I had my own ensuite. Well heated, complimentary tea/coffee, decent cleanliness. Felt safe and I checked in at about 10:30pm so self checked in which was fine. I would definitely recommend for solo travellers who need a place to stay for the night.

Terrible place, dirty, dark and dingy even in the day time. smoke detector hanging down, tv cable didnt reach the plug, bathroom door handle missing, shower head holder missing/damaged, window didnt shut, lamp shade turn beds were very old and un comfy. wish i had spent the extra £20 and got a travel lodge. even for a dirt cheap over night this place it not worth it.

Do NOT stay here!
Do yourself a favour and book a Premier Inn for an extra £20/£30 a night. I'm a student and have stayed in some atrocious places, some of which didn't have any physical structure surrounding them - I would rather stay in said atrocious places than go back to Belvedere Guesthouse in Great Yarmouth. The door to my room was not secure, anyone could just walk in. Due to the uncleanliness of the place I slept fully clothed simply because i did not want much skin contact with the bed. I refused to use any of the facilities because of how dirty they were. I instead bought bottled water to brush my teeth and wash my hair. The fact Hotels.com can even advertise this place is astonishing. Should be ashamed of yourselves. I wouldn't even prank one of my mates by booking this place for them as it was that bad.

Nice budget stay close to the sea
The room was great for the two nights we stayed. The room wasn’t the cleanest but it was good for the price. The house is close to the sea. Self check in is very easy and the staff is very helpful. There is a quiet back garden where I could work during the day when it was sunny. Great budget option

Very dirty and smelly, the hall as you walked in, whacked a punch as you walked in, thankfully the room was a little better, Had a crazy system for front door key, which went missing and couldnt get in, as they dont have a reception desk. Although they soon sorted the problem out, by getting someone up there from london..Wont ever go there again..

The house is old and creaky. The rooms are run down and in need of repair. There is no soundproofing and you can easily hear your neighbors, so it's noisy. The mattress was worn and outdated.

B&B stay
My son and I stayed overnight, are room was a twin on the top floor with everything you need, ensuite shower room, kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits etc and lovely comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious with choice of cereals/fruit and fruit juice followed by a plateful of full English and plenty of toast. Perfect :)

Décor of the hotel was very minimal and old, definitely in need of a lick of paint. Room was very basic and the breakfast was not much better but I suppose you get what you pay for. Will not be staying again.

Empfehlenswert
Das Belvedere Guest House befindet sich in einer ruhigen Straße. Ein Gemischtwaren-Laden (kleiner Supermarkt) ist in unmittelbarer Nähe. Auch der Strand ist nah. Der Britannia Pier ist ein Stück entfernt, zu Fuß vielleicht ungefähr 10 Minuten. Es gab ein üppiges Frühstück. Mein Zimmer war sauber und angenehm eingerichtet. Überhaupt machte die Pension einen positiven Eindruck. Empfehlenswert.

Friendly and nice
The room was large and well appointed although the bed creaked everytime we sat on it :). It was clean, comfortable and the telly worked. The breakfast was huge and scrummy. About 5 -10 mins walk into the town and easy to get to by road. It's convenient for the stadium and the beach. Enjoyed our stay.

BARGAIN FOR THE PRICE
A bit of a walk into town but on a sunny day along sea front which is just round the corner it's ok. Looks a bit old from outside but it's very nice inside and the owners are really friendly and helpful. The room was in good order and tho the bed looks cheap m nasty it wasn't and I slept VERY WELL. Breakfast SUPERB. Would I stop again....YES DEFINATELY. Thank you
