The hotel has a fine garden area, a smart swimming pool with lounge area and a large, elegant dining room where they serve a very good breakfast. It is well-situated and a bus to St Hellier stops just across the road. The hotel makes a good first impression.
Perhaps a three-storey building does not need a lift (though many of the guests were elderly) and a coastal hotel can do without air-conditioning, but a number of small points could be improved. There is a kettle for making tea or coffee on the desk, but there is no plug. The kettle must be plugged in at floor level by the bathroom. Other plugs are available under the desk (if you are ready to crawl) or at the back of the wardrobe! My room was quite large but the television was amazingly small (slightly larger than an A4 sheet of paper). Toiletries in the bathroom were not renewed and the bathroom fittings were tarnished. Two small wall lights had obviously replaced larger ones because drill holes were still visible and some of the repair work was a little rough and ready. With a little attention this pleasant hotel could be much nicer--especially if the staff smiled a little more.
