'Prior to our arrival I was in communication with the property manager. He was aware of the time our arrival. Once we arrived we noticed the property was filthy , it was uninhabitable. The doors, windows, and sliding doors all had hand prints & dirt everywhere. The floor downstairs, staircase, bedrooms, and bathrooms had not been cleaned or moped. 'It was a cute clean little studio. Good value for the money. There are a few nice places to eat within walking distance. The only two things negative I would say is if you are a light sleeper might be tough as there is a lot of dog barking during the night. Also for beaches you’re going to want to explore elsewhere in La Paz. The beach is muddy and not pristine. But a very nice place and the secure parking a bonus.'

'We chose Hotel Alcatraz because of the comments on Hotels.com, and we were not disappointed. Our room was large, thoughtfully appointed, and very comfortable. They allowed us to leave our dogs in the room while we went to dinnerm, and they offered a great breakfast (at a cost) the next morning. I watched Maria squeeze my orange juice, and we both loved the fresh fruit and omelettes we had. Maria was attentive and willing to chat and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely return.'

'We stayed here for 5 nights and went spear fishing. We loved having the outdoor shower to rinse gear off with and the pool was great. The rooms are comfortable, great water in the shower. There is no kitchen in the studio but excellent food nearby!'
