Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. 'Husband and I went for a quick getaway. Everything was clean and convenient. The cats were so sweet and nice company to have while you sat on the balcony and looked at the lake. Fishing was extremely relaxing as well. They had board games for the rainy night we had and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved it and would definitely try to go again.'

'Really neat place if you want to get away from city life and enjoy peace and quiet. Owners are very friendly and responsive. I wasn’t there long enough to try the breakfast “which upsets me because I’m sure it would have been delicious”. Plenty of wildlife and stock animals that I’m sure kids would love it. Almost stole their cat though. We became buddies and everytime I would go outside, here came my little buddy to keep me company. I would highly recommend a stay here.'

'It's a large, clean room. The location is in ideal country setting, close to all the Hickory area has to offer. The host were attentive and responsive to any of our concerns.
